We're looking for a Solution Architect to lead and own the end-to-end technical delivery of customer solutions, spanning both pre-sales and post-sales, from early discovery through implementation and deployment. This is not a technical support, traditional sales engineering, or project management role. It is a hands-on, customer-facing architecture and development role responsible for turning business objectives into practical, secure, and scalable solutions using xMentium's Document Intelligence platform.
As part of the Solutions Delivery team, you will take technical ownership of customer engagements across the entire solution lifecycle, ensuring continuity from pre-sales discovery and solution design through proofs of concept, integrations, implementation, and production deployment. You will not simply advise on architecture or hand off designs to others. You will lead the technical work required to bring solutions to life, developing a comprehensive understanding of each customer's environment, making sound architecture decisions, and driving solutions through to successful delivery.
You will serve as the primary technical owner and trusted partner for customers, working closely with Sales, Engineering, and System Integrators. You will lead customer architecture conversations independently, involving senior technical leaders where their expertise or authority adds value. In coordination with project management, you will help drive technical decisions, identify dependencies and risks, and keep solutions coherent.
Responsibilities
- Own customer solution design and delivery from pre-sales discovery through implementation, deployment, and transition to ongoing operations.
- Lead technical discovery sessions to understand customer objectives, document and data landscapes, existing architecture, constraints, security requirements, and success criteria.
- Design and prototype solutions using xMentium’s platform and integrating with customer environments, including tools such as SharePoint, Fabric, Databricks, OpenText, and other solution platforms.
- Develop document processing automations using TypeScript and the xMentium platform tools.
- Lead discussions about cloud, customer-tenant, and on-premises deployment models, including networking, identity, permissions, data residency, scalability, reliability, supportability, and operational ownership.
- Address security, privacy, and compliance topics credibly, working with internal specialists where formal review or deeper expertise is required.
- Present solution options and trade-offs clearly to technical and non-technical audiences, including customer architects, security teams, business leaders, and implementation teams.
- Partner with Sales to qualify technical fit, surface delivery complexity and risk, establish realistic expectations, and shape technically sound proposals and statements of work.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to validate product fit, identify gaps, and distinguish reusable product capabilities from customer-specific delivery work.
- Capture reusable patterns, reference architectures, lessons learned, and technical guidance that improve future customer engagements.
- 7+ years of experience in solutions architecture, enterprise architecture, consulting, software engineering, technical delivery, or a comparable customer-facing technical role.
- Demonstrated experience owning complex customer solutions across both pre-sales and post-sales stages.
- Full stack software development experience with TypeScript.
- Strong understanding of modern application, integration, data, and cloud architecture, including APIs, event-driven patterns, databases, identity, networking, and deployment practices.
- Experience designing integrations across enterprise platforms and working through varied APIs, authentication models, permissions, and real-world data constraints.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft ecosystem; experience with Microsoft Fabric is strongly valued.
- Practical knowledge of enterprise security and compliance concerns, including identity and access management, data protection, encryption, auditability, privacy, and data residency.
- Ability to lead discovery and architecture discussions independently, ask incisive questions, and turn incomplete information into a clear path forward.
- Strong written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain complex technical decisions in plain language and build trust with both executives and practitioners.
- Sound technical judgment and a pragmatic approach to balancing customer value, product capability, risk, timeline, scope, and long-term maintainability.
- Comfort operating across organizational boundaries.
