Global Digital Applications - Global IT
Solution Architect (Digital Marketing Professional Engagement)
Role Summary
We are excited to invite applications to join the Professional Engagement group within our Global Information Technology Organization (GIT) as a Solution Architect. You will join an agile team dedicated to designing, building, and rapidly deploying Colgate-Palmolive’s global digital professional ecosystem on the front lines of business operations. Operating at the intersection of architecture, software engineering, and forward deployed consulting, this role bridges business strategy with high-impact technical execution—writing code, designing system topologies, and embedding directly with local markets to roll out solutions.
We are looking for an adaptable, highly technical "player-coach" who thrives in high-visibility environments. You will act as a technical embedded lead—defining architectural blueprints, writing production integrations, and working directly alongside Global Digital Marketing, local market leads, and cross-category IT teams. Whether whiteboarding architecture for executives, writing APIs in an IDE, or sitting side-by-side with commercial teams to troubleshoot a live deployment, you will drive business value through fast, hands-on software delivery.
Responsibilities
-
Ecosystem Architecture & Blueprinting: Define and maintain the scalable global architectural blueprint for identity, LMS, marketing platforms, and customer service tools across brands and markets.
-
Technical Specifications & Topologies: Translate commercial strategies into robust API guidelines, data flow diagrams, microservices topologies, and system requirements.
-
Technical Governance & Roadmap: Evaluate emerging tech (GenAI orchestration, composable services) and govern technical dependencies to ensure stable, multi-market scalability.
-
Embedded On-the-Ground Rollouts: Embed directly with regional business units, brand leads, and product teams to capture real-time operational requirements and deploy tailored technical solutions on location or in-market.
-
Rapid Prototyping & Field PoCs: Build fast, functional Proof-of-Concept (PoC) builds and custom prototypes directly in production or sandbox environments to validate market viability before full-scale engineering expansion.
-
Custom API & Middleware Engineering: Write, test, and deploy production-ready code (REST/GraphQL APIs, microservices, webhooks) linking core platforms (Salesforce, Sprinklr, LMS) to enterprise systems.
-
Production Debugging & CI/CD: Lead hands-on troubleshooting, integration testing, and CI/CD deployment pipelines during high-stakes regional product launches.
Required Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or an equivalent technical field.
-
Minimum of 6 years of experience combining hands-on software development, solution architecture, and client-facing or forward-deployed technical delivery in a global matrixed environment.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Forward Deployed Mindset: Proven experience working in high-touch, fast-paced deployment roles (e.g., Forward Deployed Engineer, Technical Consultant, Solutions Architect) directly partnering with commercial or operational stakeholders.
-
Full-Stack & Integration Coding: Strong, production-level coding proficiency in languages such as Node.js, Python, Java, JavaScript, or TypeScript, with extensive experience writing and consuming REST/GraphQL APIs.
-
Architectural Blueprinting: Solid background designing scalable microservices, system integration patterns, and enterprise identity protocols (SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0).
-
High-Adaptability & Problem Solving: Exceptional ability to jump into unfamiliar codebases, debug complex production issues on the fly, and pivot quickly based on localized business needs.
-
Executive & Field Communication: Ability to articulate complex architectural concepts to leadership while building technical credibility with local operational teams and developers.
-
Multi-Platform Ecosystem Expertise: Practical engineering experience across Salesforce Marketing Cloud/CRM, Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), enterprise LMS platforms, or Sprinklr.
-
Data Engineering & Analytics: Hands-on experience with cloud data warehouses (Snowflake, GCP), advanced SQL, and data transformation frameworks.
-
DevOps & Deployment Pipelines: Deep knowledge of Git, Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions), and embedding deployment spikes into Scrum/Agile sprints.
-
Agile Frameworks: Experience embedding architectural design spikes and technical governance workflows into an Agile/SCRUM scaled delivery model.
-
Global Privacy Compliance: Understanding of technical implementations for privacy frameworks (GDPR, CCPA) during localized multi-market deployments.
