As a Solution Consultant, you partner with sales and internal stakeholders to drive the technical win across target opportunities. You move beyond basic product demonstrations to connect platform capabilities, automated data workflows, and practical AI tools directly to measurable customer outcomes. In this role, you are responsible for uncovering technical requirements consultatively, as well as developing example solutions, prototypes, and proofs of concept to validate requirements and demonstrate the enterprise value of the Workiva platform.
What You’ll Do
Execute pre-sales framework to engage customers, prospects, and partners via phone, web, or onsite meetings, drive the discovery process, and identify areas where Workiva solutions align to address customer/prospect needs
Ensure customer success by working with Workiva Client Services team for smooth on-boarding and long term success
Demonstrate knowledge across multiple domain areas developing working knowledge of industries, departments, and use cases where Workiva can have an impact
Conduct both generic and targeted solution demonstrations around Financial Reporting (private financials, capital markets transactions, SEC/Advanced, and management reporting) and Controls essentials
Assist in developing new use-cases or by using existing templates providing proof of our solution's impact and value proposition
Conduct process assessments with customers, build Proof of Concepts to validate requirements, build and present customer specific business cases
May begin to deliver cross-domain coaching, training, or mentoring peers
Work with Product Marketing, Client Services, Scoping, and Customer Success to achieve team and company goals
Assist Sales in developing account plans in support of Workiva strategies and objectives
Take primary ownership of Opportunity Technical Evaluations, driving to a verified Tech Win by proving technical viability, securing key stakeholder acceptance, and demonstrating clear solution superiority over current processes
Guide customers on leveraging data connectivity, automated reporting workflows, and practical AI capabilities to streamline complex reporting, GRC, and Sustainability/Carbon processes
Conduct solution discovery and value presentations across Workiva's core solutions, including Financial Reporting, GRC and Sustainability
What You'll Need
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of related career experience in pre-sales/solution consulting or management consulting experience (e.g., Big 4 or equivalent) with a background in solution consulting, technical sales, or solution delivery
Bachelor’s degree in a related field strongly preferred, or equivalent practical experience similar
Preferred Qualifications
Conducted high-level business communications, client negotiations, and documentation fluently in both German and French.
Experience engaging with and presenting to business or IT managers and executives
Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills
Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvement
Hands on technical experience with SaaS solutions, cloud technologies, and architectures preferred
Experience with ERP, GRC, GL, FP&A, or Analytics & Reporting solutions
Ability to present a value based, compelling software demonstrations
Working knowledge or practical experience with emerging AI capabilities (e.g., automated data curation, intelligent document processing, predictive insights, or AI-assisted reporting workflows).
Familiarity with enterprise data structures, API integrations, or cross-domain platform solutions (Finance, GRC, or Sustainability/ESG frameworks like CSRD).
Travel Requirements & Working Conditions
Willingness to travel up to 30% for team and corporate meetings, fostering relationships and representing company interests
