About Etiometry

Etiometry is the market leader in predictive analytics for the Intensive Care Unit. Our FDA-cleared clinical decision support platform transforms real-time physiologic data into actionable insight for clinicians caring for the most vulnerable patients — from newborns recovering from cardiac surgery to critically ill adults. The Etiometry Platform runs in more than 50 hospitals across three continents, including some of the world’s leading medical institutions, with a proven record of improving patient outcomes while reducing the cost of care.

When you join Etiometry, your work doesn’t sit in a backlog — it goes live in ICUs. The systems you deploy and validate are used at the bedside, every day, by clinicians making life-critical decisions.

The Role

We are hiring a Sr. Solution Engineer to own the end-to-end technical deployment of the Etiometry platform in hospital environments: engineering the data integrations that feed it, configuring it for each site’s clinical workflows, validating that it performs against real patient data, and keeping the deployed fleet healthy after go-live.

This role is the hands-on counterpart to our Solution Architect function. Where the Solution Architect defines the global solution design and reference architecture, the Sr. Solution Engineer brings that design to life inside each hospital — navigating real-world constraints of hospital networks, EMR ecosystems, and medical device data streams, and proving out the solution before clinicians depend on it. It is an ideal role for an engineer who wants to see their work running in production in some of the most demanding environments in healthcare, with a natural growth path toward solution architecture.

You will work at the intersection of software, clinical data, and hospital IT: building HL7 and API integrations, working in RHEL-based environments, partnering with hospital interface and network teams, and collaborating with our clinical specialists to confirm that what appears on screen faithfully reflects what is happening with the patient.

This is a 95% remote position with occasional travel for team meetings. Working hours generally follow standard business hours in your local time zone, with a ~5–15% off-hours component to support our global customer base across time zones and hospital downtime windows.

What You Will Own

  • Site deployment, end to end. Lead the technical configuration of the Etiometry platform for new hospital sites and expansions, from initial scoping through go-live.
  • Data integration engineering. Design, build, and test HL7 and API integrations with hospital EMRs, patient monitors, and interface engines, in partnership with hospital IT teams.
  • Solution validation. Conduct structured site checks to verify that data streams, algorithms, and visualizations behave as designed against live clinical data before and after go-live.
  • Platform updates and fleet health. Plan and execute application updates across the deployed fleet — pre-work, testing, rollout, and post-update verification — and monitor the health of existing deployments.
  • Tier 2 technical ownership. Serve as the technical escalation point for the sites you deploy: analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve issues directly, or route them to engineering with a well-characterized diagnosis.
  • Cross-functional delivery. Work as the technical voice on concurrent deployment projects alongside project management, clinical specialists, and engineering — flagging risks early and translating between clinical and technical stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and process. Author technical documentation, deployment runbooks, and instructional materials; contribute technical responses to RFIs/RFPs; and drive process improvements that make each deployment faster and more repeatable.
  • Data stewardship. Handle secure data and PHI in accordance with company policy and federal regulation.

What You Bring

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, data science, or a related field
  • Intermediate proficiency with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)-based systems and command-line tools
  • Working knowledge of web application architecture and systems integration — servers, SQL databases, and APIs
  • A systems mindset: highly organized, able to run multiple concurrent site deployments with different requirements and timelines
  • Strong communicator who can partner credibly with hospital IT, clinical staff, and internal engineering alike

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7 v2, FHIR) and interface engines — we will teach the right engineer, but prior exposure is a plus
  • Software development background, including Linux-based development and deployment experience
  • Familiarity with HIPAA compliance, data security, and user access management practices
  • Working understanding of the hospital technology landscape: EMRs, patient monitoring systems, interface engines, and clinical decision support tools

Why This Role

  • Your work ships to production in ICUs — you see it running at the bedside, not in a demo environment
  • Deep, marketable technical territory: clinical interoperability (HL7/FHIR), regulated SaMD deployment, and hospital-scale systems integration
  • A clear growth path toward solution architecture as our deployment footprint expands
  • A small, mission-driven team where your judgment directly shapes how the platform is delivered worldwide

Employee Benefits

  • Salary commensurate with experience
  • Generous benefits package
  • Paid vacation and major holidays off
  • Flexible Time Off
  • Flexible hours with work-from-home capabilities
  • Incentive Stock Options
