Solution Engineer for Location Intelligence platform

About us

Tykelab, a CY4gate group company, develops a location intelligence platform for investigative and security analysis. The system is sold to institutional customers in Italy and abroad through the group's sales channels.

We are looking for the first person dedicated to connecting the product with its customers: a technical professional who can convey the value of the system, take it into the field and bring back to the development team what customers really ask for.

The role

The Solution Engineer is the product's technical point of reference for customers and sales channels, from the first demo through to go-live. The role reports to the CTO of Tykelab.

The role works in three directions:

• Towards customers: presents, demonstrates and tailors the system to their use cases.

• Towards the group's sales channels: supports sales reps in negotiations as product specialist.

• Towards the development team: brings requirements and feedback from the field into the roadmap, shielding the team from unqualified requests.

Key responsibilities

Presales

• Run technical demos and workshops with customer analysts, technical staff and managers.

• Design and manage POCs with a defined scope, duration and success criteria.

• Write the technical sections of proposals, tenders and specifications; answer technical and security questionnaires.

• Support customers in compliance assessments (data provenance, privacy, legal basis for use).

Delivery

• Act as technical lead on location intelligence system projects after contract signature: requirements, configuration, integrations with customer systems.

• Work alongside the sales channel's project manager, who retains contractual and administrative governance.

• Oversee go-live and user training.

Product and enablement

• Maintain the demo environment, the standard POC package and the technical and compliance documentation kit.

• Train channel sales reps and project managers on the product, use cases and market.

• Collect and prioritise customer feedback together with the CTO and the development team.

Essential requirements

• Degree in a technical discipline (engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics) or equivalent experience.

• At least 5 years in customer-facing technical roles: presales, solution engineering, technical consulting or technical project lead on B2B software products.

• Strong technical background in data and integrations: databases, REST APIs, data exchange formats, web and cloud/on-premise architectures.

• Ability to translate operational needs into configurations and requirements, and to explain technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

• Excellent command of Italian and fluent professional English, written and spoken.

• Willingness to travel in Italy and abroad.

• Personal requirements compatible with the granting of a security clearance, if required by projects.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience in the security, defence, law enforcement or intelligence sector, or with public administration customers.

• Knowledge of geospatial and location data (GIS, trajectory analysis, mobility data).

• Familiarity with OSINT, investigative analysis platforms or lawful interception systems.

• Knowledge of the data protection regulatory framework (GDPR, Law Enforcement Directive).

• Experience with SQL and analytical databases to prepare demos on real data.

• Existing security clearance (NOS).

• A third language among those of the group's international markets.
