Solution Engineer, Specialist (Airports Solutions)/ Pre-Sales and Solution Architect Experience

ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM As a Solution Engineer , you will drive the design and positioning of SITA Airports solutions across the MEA region, supporting customers in their digital transformation and operational excellence journeys. You will be accountable for shaping innovative, scalable, and resilient airport technology solutions that address complex operational needs and enhance passenger experience. Reporting to the Solution Engineering Director , you will be a part of the SITA Airports Solutions team , responsible for delivering end-to-end airport technology solutions spanning Passenger Processing, Biometrics & Digital Identity, Baggage Management, Airport Operations, and Smart Airport initiatives. In this role, you will collaborate closely with Sales, Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams to support pre-sales activities, develop compelling solution proposals, and ensure alignment with industry standards and SITA’s architectural principles while addressing the evolving needs of airports across the region. WHAT YOU WILL DO Support design and positioning of SITA Airports solutions across MEA in collaboration with Sales, Product, Architecture, and Delivery teams. Lead and support pre-sales activities including qualification, solution shaping, proposals, workshops, and RFP/RFI/RFQ responses. Translate airport operational requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions using SITA Airports portfolio offerings. Design airport solutions across domains such as Passenger Processing, Biometrics & Digital Identity, Baggage Management, Airport Operations, and Smart Airport initiatives. Engage customers through technical workshops, solution presentations, and demonstrations to support opportunity development. Define integration approaches across airport, airline, cloud, infrastructure, network, API, and third-party systems. Ensure solution designs meet 24/7 operational requirements with focus on resilience, availability, scalability, and maintainability. Identify technical risks, dependencies, and compliance considerations during solution design and proposal stages. Ensure alignment with aviation industry standards and regulations (ICAO, IATA, ACI) and SITA architectural principles. Stay current with airport technology trends including biometrics, digital identity, automation, cloud platforms, and AI-enabled airport operations. WHO YOU ARE 4–5 years of experience in IT, aviation/air transport technology, airport systems, or solution engineering/pre-sales roles. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, or equivalent. Relevant certifications such as: TOGAF (Enterprise Architecture), Cloud certifications (AWS / Azure / GCP), Virtualization or infrastructure certifications (e.g., VMware), Cybersecurity certifications (e.g., Security+, CISSP foundation-level awareness), etc. Strong understanding of systems integration, APIs, multi-vendor ecosystems, and enterprise IT environments. Strong exposure to airport or aviation environments is highly preferred. Solid understanding of airport domains including Passenger Processing, Biometrics, Baggage Systems, Airport Operations, and Integration Platforms. Experience in customer-facing pre-sales engagements including workshops, proposals, and RFP/RFI responses. Analytical, structured problem-solving mindset with strong collaboration and adaptability. NICE-TO-HAVE Experience in airport, airline, aviation, or large-scale mission-critical operational environments. Familiarity with aviation industry frameworks and standards (ICAO, IATA, ACI).
