About Nearmap
Property intelligence is reshaping how the world understands the built environment, and Nearmap is driving that. We put powerful aerial imagery, AI-driven analytics, and geospatial tools into the hands of the people who plan, build, insure, and govern the places we all live and work. Our technology turns property uncertainty into decisive action, and our culture brings out the best in the people who build it.
We move fast, we care about craft, and we're proud of what we're building. If you're energized by turning hard problems into real-world impact, we'd love to meet you.
About the Role
Location: Fully remote within the continental United States.
Nearmap works closely with government agencies and organizations across state, local, and federal levels. Our products enable government customers to assess property values, plan safer communities, respond to severe weather disasters, and more. As Solutions Product Manager, Government, you will partner closely with government customers to deeply understand their workflows and pain points, define solutions that move the needle for them, and ultimately own the commercial success of your products.
This role blends strategic ownership with hands-on execution: you'll gather insights, define product strategy and goals, prioritize product initiatives, and drive efforts to build, launch, and grow products. Along the way, you will become a subject matter expert in geospatial technologies and property intelligence workflows. You can also expect a significant amount of cross-functional collaboration and you will work with stakeholders across engineering, GTM, legal, other product leaders, and other departments across Nearmap to prioritize, ship, and grow the products you own.
Key Responsibilities
You'll own the overall commercial success of your products, which entails:
- Creating a compelling vision, mission, and roadmap for Nearmap’s government products
- Acquiring deep expertise of government customers and their workflows, use cases, and pain points
- Becoming a leading expert for Nearmap’s government product offerings, including property assessment, asset and portfolio management, public safety, and disaster response.
- Translating customer and business needs into clear, actionable requirements
- Defining key product metrics that provide insight into product traction and health
- Building and championing the internal business case for compelling new product opportunities
You'll build relationships that matter:
- Regularly connecting with Sales, Sales Engineering, and Customer Success to surface and review customer pain points, opportunities, and sales objections
- Talking directly with customers to understand how they use and experience existing Nearmap's products, and to gather discovery insights for new product concepts
- Sharing what you learn with Nearmap stakeholders to align on a shared vision and plan of action
- Forming relationships with ecosystem partners, including technology platforms and channel partners, to acquire a strategic understanding of Nearmap’s position in the value chain
- Listening to sales and customer success calls to build a real understanding of what customers care about
Uphold Nearmap's values and comply with company standards and all local statutory requirements:
- Complies with all local legislative requirements.
- Adheres to company guidelines and the corporate Code of Conduct.
- Where appropriate keeps up to date with legislative requirements.
- Acts in an ethical way when dealing with company assets and other people.
Experience
- 5+ years of product management experience building B2B SaaS and/or enterprise data products
- Experience working with or selling to government customers is a strong plus, including familiarity with public sector procurement and how local, state, and federal agencies work together
- Experience with geospatial data, whether in government or another industry, is a big plus
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience
Skills
- Demonstrated ability to define and justify a product roadmap
- Proven track record of building and shipping both 0-to-1 products and incremental improvements
- Strong written communication and ability to tailor writing to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Confident and clear speaking skills in various settings, ranging from small team brainstorming discussions to large conference talks.
- Strong nice to have: experience with geospatial technology and remote sensing, and ideally know your way around Esri, Autodesk, or Bentley products
Personal Attributes
- High agency and strong bias for action
- Commercially sharp and genuinely energized by driving impact to both Nearmap and its customers, with sharp judgment on prioritizing competing needs
- Analytical and data-driven
