Hiring: Solution Architect

Location: Edmonton, Alberta, Remote

Duration: February 5, 2027 – February 4, 2028 (possibility to extend)

Hourly Rate: $85/hour - $100/hour (based on experience)

Client: Public Sector - Education

Responsibilities:

• Create a well-informed cloud strategy and manage the adaption process.
• Provide architectural, software development and maintenance services for new LearnAlberta.ca and related applications in an agile environment.
• Provide architectural and software development services utilizing Amazon AWS cloud platform.
• Provide software development services utilizing Artificial Intelligence.
• Provide architectural and software development services on new serverless cloud-based applications building, testing, and deploying using C#, .Net development, NoSQL databases (AWS Dynamo DB) and VS Code.
• Provide architectural and front-end development services using technologies including, but not limited to JavaScript, SCSS, HTML, Angular, Typescript, Material Design.
• Provide architectural and software development services using state management technologies including, but not limited to NGXS, NGRX and Redux.
• Ensure responsiveness, scalability, and stability of applications.
• Manage and ensure overall quality of software being developed.
• Manage and lead code and peer reviews.
• Design and develop RESTful APIs.
• Design and utilize CI/CD - continuous integration/ continuous deployment tools.
• Translate requirements into functional and technical designs.
• Provide architectural leadership and direction.
• Provide leadership/mentoring to the development team.
• Perform research and development on new and evolving technologies and practices as needed to ensure applications evolve over time.

Must Haves:

• A university degree or two-year diploma in computer science or a related discipline (e.g., software development, programming, systems design, or information technology studies) from an accredited post-secondary institution and a minimum of five (5) years of experience as an architect on software development projects; OR A one-year certificate in computer science or a related discipline (e.g., software development, programming, systems design, or information technology studies) from an accredited post-secondary institution and a minimum of seven (7) years of experience as an architect on software development projects.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience as an architect on software development projects using all of the following: C#, .Net development, NoSQL (AWS Dynamo DB), and VS Code.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience in the role of architect working on Amazon AWS software development projects.
• A minimum of three (3) years experience developing, building, testing, and deploying solutions using JavaScript frameworks Angular (2.0 or higher) and/or React.
