Solutions Architect

We are looking for an experienced Senior Solution Architect / Technical Advisor to support a large-scale migration to Microsoft Fabric on a freelance basis.

This is a senior, hands-on role combining solution architecture, technical leadership and advisory responsibilities. You will help define the future Fabric architecture, guide migration decisions and ensure internal teams are equipped to manage and develop the platform independently.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and validate the target Microsoft Fabric architecture
• Shape and maintain the platform migration roadmap
• Lead architecture workshops and key technical decisions
• Support the migration of data workloads, semantic models and Power BI reporting
• Establish standards across architecture, development, governance and operations
• Ensure strong data governance, security and data quality
• Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation strategies
• Drive platform performance and cost optimisation
• Provide hands-on technical support, prototypes and solutions where required
• Coach internal teams and lead knowledge transfer

Your Background

• 10+ years' experience within Data, BI, Analytics or Cloud
• 5+ years' experience within Solution Architecture / Technical Leadership
• Strong hands-on expertise with Microsoft Fabric
• Experience migrating or modernising enterprise-scale Data & Analytics platforms
• Strong knowledge of the Microsoft Data & Analytics ecosystem
• Comfortable across architecture, Data Engineering, BI and governance
• Strong stakeholder management and workshop facilitation skills
• Experience coaching technical teams and transferring knowledge

Certifications

Highly valued:

• DP-600 – Microsoft Fabric Analytics Engineer Associate
• AZ-305 – Azure Solutions Architect Expert

DP-203, PL-300, TOGAF and Agile/Scrum certifications are also advantageous.
