And as the Sourcing Lead (Upholstery), you’ll lead the execution of the Upholstery category sourcing strategy, driving supplier performance and operational excellence to support Article’s continued growth.
This is a 1-year maternity leave coverage position based in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
Why We Need You:
In the Sourcing Team, the Sourcing Lead (Upholstery) translates category direction into clear, actionable sourcing plans. You’ll drive supplier performance, lead negotiations, provide market and supplier insights, and serve as a key subject matter expert for Upholstery suppliers and sourcing execution.
During this 1-year maternity leave coverage, you’ll step into an established team and help maintain continuity across our Upholstery sourcing activities, supplier relationships, and cross-functional partnerships.

What You’ll Do:
You’ll work closely with the Sourcing Senior Manager and 4 sourcing professionals to execute sourcing strategies, strengthen supplier performance, analyze market intelligence, and partner cross-functionally to deliver results. This role is based in our Ho Chi Minh City office and requires domestic and international travel.
- Partner with the Sourcing Senior Manager to execute strategic sourcing initiatives for Upholstery, supporting Article’s continued growth and scalability.
- Drive operational excellence across the Upholstery supplier base, securing competitive pricing, favorable commercial terms, and optimal lead times while maintaining strong quality and compliance standards.
- Lead supplier negotiations and support contract management to achieve the right balance of cost, quality, service, capacity, and delivery.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with finished goods suppliers through consistent communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor supplier capabilities and performance, identifying opportunities to strengthen efficiency, reliability, cost competitiveness, and overall supplier performance.
- Track market dynamics, upholstery trends, material innovations, cost drivers, and evolving furniture manufacturing practices to identify sourcing opportunities and potential risks.
- Maintain up-to-date market intelligence on key upholstery suppliers, manufacturing clusters, competitive movements, and industry developments to support informed sourcing decisions.
- Serve as the primary liaison for Upholstery Sourcing, strengthening cross-functional collaboration with Technical Product Development, Quality, Category Management, and Supply Chain teams.
- Support the Upholstery Sourcing team by fostering alignment, ownership, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.
- Act as a go-to resource for the team, helping direct reports solve execution challenges and navigate day-to-day sourcing, supplier, technical, and process-related questions.
Who You Are:
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in sourcing, procurement, supply chain management, or a related field.
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of furniture product technical requirements, compliance standards, manufacturing processes, and production efficiencies.
- Knowledge and hands-on sourcing experience within Upholstery is a strong asset.
- Proven experience in supplier negotiation, supplier development, and contract management.
- Experience managing and developing supplier relationships within Asia is an asset.
Technical Skills:
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to track and report on supplier performance, cost trends, and market developments.
- Strong negotiation skills with the ability to navigate complex supplier discussions and challenging situations.
- Demonstrated supervisory and leadership skills, with the ability to support and guide team members.
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets, ERP systems, and sourcing tools.

- Strong ability to prioritize competing demands and delegate when appropriate.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment.
