Role Description
Procurement at the Heart of the Business
Procurement at Allianz sits at the centre of how the business makes decisions. We own the commercial relationships that shape cost, risk and customer outcomes, and we do it in partnership with senior leaders across the organisation rather than at arm's length from them.
Following a transformation and investment in 2025, we are a team of almost 100 professionals with deep capability across category management, sourcing, Supplier Relationship Management, governance, and data and analytics. That combination makes us a credible partner across the whole supply chain, in both indirect and claims, and it means you join a function with the expertise and mandate to get things done properly.
We’re now looking for a Sourcing Manager to join the Claims Legal and Technical category within our Procurement team. You’ll take ownership of key subcategories within this portfolio, working alongside the wider category team to deliver real commercial value. If you’ve got the commercial instinct, the legal know-how, and the drive to build something meaningful — keep reading.
The Opportunity
Claims Legal and Technical is one of the most commercially significant and complex areas of our direct spend with high fee spend, high indemnity and reserves. There are many opportunities to impact the shape, quality, value and partnership we have and continue to create with our Allianz partners, driving value, managing risk, and finding smarter ways to get things done.
Reporting directly to the Senior Category Manager, you will develop and execute strategy for your assigned subcategories from the ground up, working closely with internal stakeholders across Claims, Legal, and Compliance, as well as external law firms and technical service providers, to make sure we’re getting the best outcomes for the business and our customers.
Location: Any Allianz office. Please note that travel will be required as part of the role.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Taking ownership of key subcategories within the Claims Legal and Technical portfolio — developing and challenging business needs/ specifications and broader strategy, and executing it independently
- Leading complex sourcing projects, tenders, contractual and commercial negotiations that deliver genuine cost optimisation and value. Working collaboratively with your SRM counterpart(s), building innovation into our contractual commitments alongside maturing how we talk about and measure performance.
- Building strong relationships with stakeholders across Claims, Legal, and Compliance — becoming their go-to procurement partner
- Driving supplier innovation through proactive market engagement and collaboration with our Supplier Relationship Management team
- Managing risk across the legal supply chain — identifying issues early and putting strategies in place to stay ahead
- Championing sustainability and ethical sourcing within procurement activities, aligned with Allianz’s corporate responsibility commitments
- Hitting your targets — savings, KPIs, and value-add measures that improve year on year
Salary Information
Pay: Circa salary between £50.000-£60.000 per year. Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
You are a tenacious, commercially sharp procurement professional who works proactively rather than waiting to be directed. You are curious about how the claims legal market operates and bring working knowledge of it, you are confident turning spend and performance data into insight that changes decisions, and you build the kind of relationships — internally and with suppliers — that let you influence outcomes rather than simply administer them.
What You’ll need:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Procurement, Strategic Sourcing, or Category Management
- Claims Legal experience — you understand the legal services landscape, panel management, and how law firms and the claim journey operate
- Strong negotiation skills
- Proven ability to independently create and execute category strategies
- Excellent stakeholder management — clear, confident communication with the ability to influence up to Claims SLT and Exco levels
- Solid analytical skills — comfortable with data, spend analysis, creating insights to drive decisions
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement best practices and experience with modern procurement systems
Nice To Have:
- CIPS qualification or equivalent
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
Why Allianz Procurement?
