Strategic Sourcing Manager (Marketing & Advertising)

Description

The Strategic Sourcing Team is focused on delivering service and value to internal stakeholders across categories spanning goods and services. The team develops strategic sourcing strategies that support business goals and objectives while implementing systems and tools that enable the sourcing process.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Strategic Sourcing, Marketing & Advertising, the Sourcing Manager will manage end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives while supporting process compliance and organizational goals related to diversity, risk, and sustainability. This role partners with business stakeholders to develop annual and multi-year sourcing plans aligned with business priorities, budget cycles, and long-term category strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all aspects of the strategic sourcing process for assigned projects, including supply market analysis, stakeholder requirements gathering, RFI/RFP/RFQ events, supplier evaluation and selection, negotiations, contracting, and transition of awarded business.
  • Utilize market intelligence, benchmarking, spend analysis, and supplier insights to develop sourcing strategies, support negotiations, and provide category recommendations.
  • Support business partners throughout the intake-to-contract process and negotiate agreements that maximize value.
  • Lead contracts through internal review and supplier approval processes.
  • Prepare business cases, deal summaries, and executive presentations outlining recommendations, tradeoffs, financial impacts, risks, and key decisions.
  • Develop category strategies and annual/multi-year sourcing plans aligned with business priorities, budget cycles, savings goals, and supplier roadmaps.
  • Establish sourcing roadmaps based on stakeholder objectives, contract expirations, organizational data, and market trends.
  • Identify supplier, commercial, compliance, and project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Provide sourcing support across Marketing and Advertising categories.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage spend across departments and geographies.
  • Support supplier governance, stakeholder adoption, and ongoing supplier performance management.
  • Build strong cross-functional stakeholder relationships through effective communication and execution.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Experience sourcing for North American retail environments.
  • Strong supplier relationship management experience.
  • Experience with should-cost modeling and cost analysis.
  • Continuous improvement mindset and process optimization experience.
  • Supplier performance management experience.
  • Experience supporting U.S., Canadian, and/or global sourcing initiatives.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.

This is a Contract position based out of San Francisco, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $44.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
