Special Advisor-Public Works

Management Partners is actively seeking seasoned municipal public works professionals to assist local municipalities with short-term assignments and projects. Public works professionals, including retirees, with a background serving as deputy and department directors in local governments are welcomed to apply. Although each assignment varies, public works professionals should have demonstrated expertise in the following areas: Knowledge of public works operations, including construction, engineering, maintenance, administrative procedures. Ability to plan, organize, schedule, coordinate and direct public works functions, including streets, solid waste, water and sewer utilities and engineering. Knowledge of and experience in the application of management and supervisory principles and practices as applied to municipal government. Knowledge of and experience in municipal procedures relating to finance, personnel, purchasing, office operations, risk management and public relations. Knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering and construction, particularly as applied to municipal functions. Ability to efficiently prepare and maintain thorough and accurate reports and records. In addition, our consultants must be able to: Competently prepare reports utilizing Microsoft Word. Learn and utilize the Microsoft SharePoint file management software. Utilize Zoom and Microsoft Teams to conduct online meetings. Work collaboratively as a team member within Management Partners. Learn and apply our professional practices as a firm.
