Special Education Teacher

The Award Winning Speech Momi LLC, a staple in the therapeutic community, is growing its online Special Education Instructional team. Under the direction and supervision of Speech Momi's Director, the Special Education Teacher assists in supplementing, enhancing, and extending academic services by completing a variety of tasks such as, but not limited to, direct activities with clients designed to develop and enhance benchmark concepts, language skills, organizational thought, literacy skills, cognition, comprehension, memory retainment, and the use of assistive technology devices for communication. Duties and Responsibilities: Conducts academic and disability related screenings, using the protocols developed by the supervising Director; Provides direct assistance for specialized instruction to students and adults; Follows and implements documented academic treatment plans while monitoring client progress; Assists other multidisciplinary teams during the peak of client reviews and intakes/assessments; Adapts or modifies instructional materials as determined by the targeted academic objectives; Assists in maintaining client records, tallying data, preparing charts, records, graphs, and reports; Assists in sharing online multidisciplinary input with requesting families and medical practitioners; Implements behavior management programs as designed by certified ABA/Neuro staff; Attends online clinical team meetings on an as needed basis Education and Experience: Masters Degree from an Accredited Special Education program Licenses and Certificates: Current registration with a Board as a Certified Teacher Knowledge of: Developmental norms, learning tools, instructional equipment, materials, and procedures; Expressive, receptive and cognitive disorders; Learning patterns in both children and adults; Behavior management techniques and strategies; Routine record keeping.
