Overview

Your role
- Act as an authority in one or more Tooling Technologies/Designs.
- Conceive and oversee the development of Tooling programs and long-range technical plans, establishing objectives and priorities.
- Define technical direction, devising methods of achieving program objectives in the most economical and effective manner.
- May be delegated to represent AtkinsRéalis in the development of engineering standards and/or technical forums in his/her area of expertise.
- Participate in the operational planning process.
- Serve as the primary technical interface with the client and Candu Engineering in his/her area of specialization.
- Contribute to the growth of the technology business line and keep conversant with advanced technological trends and developments.
- Provide input on the recruitment and training of competent specialized staff and input into the selection and appraisal of staff, as required.
About you
- Engineering Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics from an accredited university or equivalent degree as recognized by Professional Engineers Ontario (PEO).
- Registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) in the Province of Ontario and member in good standing.
- Minimum 15 years of progressive nuclear experience in a discipline and field of application relevant to large-scale refurbishments or maintenance services.
- Experience managing tooling work with interfacing requirements involving other engineering teams (Mechanical, Electrical, Human Factors, etc.), Procurement, Quality Assurance, Contracts, and Construction.
- Recognized within Candu and the nuclear industry as a Subject Matter Expert in Tooling Design, Testing and Deployment.
- A marked capacity for sound independent action or decision-making, and a very specialized understanding of Tooling System technology.
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects.
- Strong leadership and coaching skills in the development of team members and support staff.
- Excellent client focus and conflict resolution skills.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
Other Requirements:
- Experience in executing projects that are subject to import/export controls.
- Security clearance is a condition of employment.
