The American Lung Association has an excellent opportunity for a Specialist, Nationwide Lung Cancer Screening. Working as a member of the Advocacy and Public Policy department, you will join an outstanding group of professionals dedicated to our mission: to save lives by improving lung health and preventing lung disease through research, education, and advocacy. The Nationwide Lung Cancer Screening Specialist supports the implementation, evaluation, and sustainability of nationwide lung cancer screening education programs at the American Lung Association. This position is primarily responsible for measuring program performance, evaluating program outcomes, and supporting data-driven decision-making to strengthen lung cancer screening efforts and maximizing program impact for a Lung Cancer Screening Initiative program that spans Washington, DC, North Carolina, and Los Angeles, CA areas. In addition, the Specialist will be responsible for recruiting new partnerships and maintaining collaborative partnerships with health systems, community-based organizations, and other partners to support accurate community engagement, reporting and evaluation activities, and the successful achievement of program objectives. Working under the guidance of the Manager, Nationwide Lung Cancer Screening and relevant colleagues, the Specialist collaborates with internal teams and external partners to monitor program effectiveness, assess outcomes, and identify opportunities to improve program performance, efficiency, and reach through continuous quality improvement efforts. Location: Nationwide Nationwide: If near an office location, this role will be hybrid and require a minimum of two days per week in the office. We are also considering remote applicants and encourage candidates in any location in the United States to apply. Responsibilities: Lead the collection, validation, analysis, and interpretation of program and partner data to assess the effectiveness of the program and measure outcomes. Design, implement, and manage program evaluation activities, including performance measurement, outcome monitoring, data quality assurance, and continuous quality improvement initiatives. Develop, maintain, and enhance program reporting tools, dashboards, and performance tracking systems to support timely, accurate, and actionable program reporting. Monitor grant deliverables, key performance indicators, project milestones, and program metrics to identify trends, assess program impact, and provide data-driven recommendations for program improvement. Prepare and submit timely reports, analyses, and documentation required by the organization and funders, including monthly, quarterly, and annual program performance reports. Collaborate and coordinate with Mission teams and other key staff members, external partners and organizations to expand comprehensive lung cancer screening and navigation services nationwide. Maintain collaborative relationships with health systems and community-based organizations to support accurate reporting, evaluation activities, and achievement of program objectives. Assist in the development and implementation of partner recruitment strategies in selected markets to expand community-based lung cancer screening outreach and education efforts. Support the development, maintenance, and dissemination of tailored lung cancer screening promotional materials and program tools to support guideline-based care. Provide technical assistance and evaluation support to national and local staff by sharing performance data, best practices, and recommendations that strengthen lung cancer screening initiatives. Translate evaluation findings and performance data into actionable recommendations that support strategic planning, program improvement, and sustainability efforts. Develop and effectively utilize timelines to ensure completion of evaluation activities, reporting requirements, and grant deliverables. Assist in planning and evaluating quality improvement opportunities by tracking participation, learner outcomes, program performance, and overall effectiveness. Present program outcomes, evaluation findings, and best practices at local, state, and national meetings, as requested and under the guidance of the Manager and subject matter experts. Serve on regional and national American Lung Association program workgroups and committees, as requested. Select and participate in local, state, and national seminars and courses designed to increase skills and knowledge related to job requirements. Participate in and support all area events and perform other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in public health or related field required. Additional certifications, degrees, or training in program evaluation, epidemiology, implementation of science, quality improvement, or data analytics preferred. Minimum 2 years of experience in program evaluation, performance measurement, applied research public health, quality improvement, data analysis, or grant-funded program management. Experience collecting, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative and qualitative data. Experience preparing reports, dashboards, and performance metrics for internal and external use. Must be a self-starter with excellent communication skills both written and oral. Experience monitoring program performance, tracking deliverables, and developing data-informed recommendations for continuous quality improvement preferred. Positive attitude with the ability to work independently and cooperatively in a team environment. Ability to lift approximately 25 lbs. Able to work with minimum direct supervision, make decisions, and take initiative. Must have a valid Driver’s license and your own reliable transportation with the ability to travel within assigned area 20% of the time for meetings and conferences, as well as the flexibility to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends with some overnights required Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel required. Experience with data visualization, dashboards, and reporting tools preferred. Compensation: Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. The target hiring range for this position is between $41,000 and $51,000 per annum. Benefits : The Lung Association offers a comprehensive benefits package including: Paid Leave - 10 vacation days in the first year (15 days thereafter), 2 personal days and 15 sick days per year, as well as 12 company-paid holidays per year.
