What Success Looks Like You will help establish a scalable Playwright framework, convert high-value Tosca coverage, improve regression-test reliability, reduce manual testing effort, and deliver dependable Python-based data integration utilities that support repeatable automated testing. About the Role We are looking for a hands-on Test Automation Specialist to help modernize our automation strategy by converting existing Tosca automation to Playwright and building new front-end automation for web applications. The ideal candidate is a strong developer who brings practical experience with Playwright and TypeScript, along with solid Python skills for data integration, test-data preparation, and validation. What You’ll Do Assess existing Tosca automation and determine what should be migrated, redesigned, consolidated, or retired. Convert prioritized Tosca test cases and reusable components into maintainable Playwright automation. Build front-end test automation using Playwright and TypeScript. Develop reusable page objects, fixtures, test-data utilities, assertions, and framework components. Create reliable functional, regression, smoke, integration, and end-to-end tests. Use Playwright traces, screenshots, videos, reports, and logs to diagnose failures and reduce test flakiness. Develop Python utilities for test-data setup, data transformation, API integration, file processing, database interaction, and data validation. Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and improve execution speed, stability, and reporting. Collaborate with developers, product managers, business analysts, and QA engineers to embed quality throughout the delivery lifecycle. Contribute to automation standards, code reviews, framework documentation, and continuous improvement. Required Qualifications Hands-on experience building and maintaining Playwright automation. Strong TypeScript or advanced JavaScript development skills. Experience with test automation architecture, including page objects, fixtures, test isolation, test data, configuration, and reporting. Experience troubleshooting asynchronous behavior, flaky tests, browser issues, and environment problems. Experience with Tricentis Tosca or migrating automation from a legacy/commercial tool to a code-based framework. Strong Python development skills, including reusable modules, error handling, logging, testing, and integration with APIs or data sources. Experience working with JSON, XML, CSV, SQL, or other structured data. Familiarity with Git, pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD practices. As a Quality Engineer you will plan and conduct a wide range of software quality tests and analyses to ensure all application products and services meet organizational standards aligned to their quality management approach, as well as, end-user requirements. All Quality Engineers perform quality planning, quality design and execution. You will focus on a blend of skills enabling efficient execution of risk-based testing, test automation, performance testing, test data management, test environment management, continuous integration and continuous deployment all improving speed to delivery for our business partners. Job Description Key Responsibilities: Carries out procedures to ensure all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements. Analyses and reviews moderate requirements, user stories and technical work products to create the automation needed. Applies secure software and systems engineering practices throughout the delivery lifecycle to ensure our data and technology solutions are protected from threats and vulnerabilities. Plans for the proper mix of manual, automated, and exploratory testing methods. Uses the appropriate quality engineering tools to define test data management, test automation, security/vulnerability, performance, and regression testing needs. Validates test results, records and researches defects. Coordinates test runs and test environment calendars for all impacted applications. Traces requirements to tests and test results. Prioritizes, defines, and manages defect reporting and resolution. Manages defects including identifying, tracking, and providing critical thinking for resolution. Identifies means to be more effective and efficient in testing, without compromising quality. Plans for continuous integration to enable a continuous deployment pipeline. Executes moderate release testing and has a plan for back-out testing. Validates that release components are installed in the appropriate testing environment. Aligns with the Nationwide automated testing reference architecture. Complies with release management process governance and timelines throughout the release. Additional responsibilities may include collaboration across teams and adherence to company standards. May perform other responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications & Experience: Education: Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field is preferred. License/Certification/Designation: Technology certifications including TOSCA Automated Specialist 1 (AS1), TOSCA Automated Specialist 2 (AS2), or other related designations are preferred. Experience: Four or more years of related experience with software delivery or educational experience within a technology domain. Demonstrated experience in testing for agile teams including planning, test plan creation, maintenance and execution. Understanding of test automation and optimization throughout a stack and the tools to support. Technical Skills: Agile Methodology Analytical Thinking Business Processes Business Requirements Computer Science Detail-Oriented Test Automation Test Planning Soft Skills & Attributes: Strong communication and collaboration skills Analytical and problem-solving mindset Ability to work in agile and global environments Time management and prioritization Ability to problem solve and set priorities needed. Insurance/financial services industry knowledge a plus.
