Speech Pathologist – Paediatrics | Full-time or Part-time

  • Springwood, Greater Brisbane | Flexible hybrid work
  • $90,000–$125,000 + 12% super, depending on experience (full-time equivalent)
  • Bilingual or multilingual skills valued, but not essential

Help children communicate, connect and participate in everyday life.

The BrainWell Collective is looking for a Speech Pathologist to join our growing paediatric service. If you enjoy working with children and families, want to develop your clinical interests and value collaboration across disciplines, we would love to meet you.

ABOUT THE BRAINWELL COLLECTIVE

We are a boutique, clinician-led multidisciplinary allied health practice providing person-centred, function-focused and evidence-informed services across the lifespan.

Our team brings together speech pathologists, occupational therapists, allied health assistants and our operations and client care team. We value thoughtful clinical reasoning, meaningful outcomes and sustainable ways of working.

Our clinicians work autonomously while staying connected to experienced colleagues for supervision, case discussions and shared learning.

Cultural and linguistic diversity is an important part of our team and the communities we support. We welcome clinicians from all backgrounds. If you speak another language, we would love to hear how you could bring that skill to your work with children and families.

THE OPPORTUNITY

This is a full-time or part-time salaried role, combining clinic, home, school, community and telehealth appointments, with opportunities to work from home.

Our clinic is based in Springwood, and our service area includes Greater Brisbane, Logan, Ipswich, Redlands and the Gold Coast.

You will independently manage a varied routine paediatric caseload, with regular supervision and senior professional support available for unfamiliar, complex or high-risk presentations.

Depending on your experience and clinical interests, your caseload may include:

  • Speech sound disorders, including articulation and phonological difficulties
  • Childhood apraxia of speech and other motor speech difficulties
  • Receptive and expressive language difficulties
  • Developmental Language Disorder
  • Fluency difficulties, including stuttering
  • Early communication and interaction needs
  • Literacy and phonological awareness difficulties
  • Social communication differences
  • Autism, ADHD, developmental delay and cognitive disability
  • Complex communication needs requiring augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) or other multimodal approaches

You do not need expertise in every area listed. We want to understand your strengths, clinical interests and areas where you would benefit from further support.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Deliver engaging, child- and family-centred assessment and intervention.
  • Select appropriate formal and informal assessments to inform your clinical reasoning.
  • Develop meaningful therapy goals and intervention plans with children and families.
  • Provide evidence-informed therapy within your scope of competence.
  • Help families, educators and support teams use practical strategies in everyday routines.
  • Monitor progress and adapt intervention to reflect outcomes and family priorities.
  • Collaborate with speech pathology colleagues, occupational therapists, allied health assistants and other stakeholders.
  • Manage scheduling, follow-up, documentation and stakeholder communication for your routine caseload.
  • Recognise when consultation or senior support is needed.
  • Participate in supervision, case discussions and team learning.
  • Contribute to quality improvement and lead a defined service-development project aligned with your interests.

WHAT WE OFFER

  • $90,000–$125,000 + 12% super, depending on experience, with part-time salary calculated proportionately.
  • Quarterly performance bonus.
  • Travel reimbursement at $0.92/km.
  • Full-time or part-time salaried arrangements.
  • Flexible hybrid work across clinic, community, schools, telehealth and work from home.
  • A dedicated paediatric consulting and playroom at our Springwood clinic.
  • Regular supervision and access to senior clinical support.
  • Professional development opportunities.
  • Opportunities to develop your preferred areas of paediatric practice.
  • Laptop and iPhone provided.
  • Administrative support, clinical templates and streamlined systems.
  • A sustainable approach to caseload management and productivity.
  • A collaborative multidisciplinary team where your ideas can contribute to the growth of our service.

ABOUT YOU

You are a thoughtful, warm and collaborative Speech Pathologist who enjoys supporting children and their families.

You will bring:

  • A recognised tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology.
  • Certified Practising Speech Pathologist status with Speech Pathology Australia, or eligibility to obtain it.
  • Experience supporting paediatric clients and their families.
  • Sound assessment, intervention and clinical reasoning skills.
  • Skills or a developing interest in speech, language, literacy, fluency, social communication or AAC.
  • A strengths-based, neurodiversity-affirming and family-centred approach.
  • Clear documentation and stakeholder communication skills.
  • The ability to independently organise and manage a routine clinical caseload.
  • The judgement to recognise when consultation or senior support is required.
  • A current driver licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • A current NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children Check, or willingness to obtain them.

Experience in AAC, complex communication, paediatric feeding or mealtime management is valued but not essential.

Bilingual or multilingual skills are also a plus—not a requirement for the role.
