Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Retirement Sales Intern during spring quarter 2027!
About the program
The Sales Support Specialist Internship is designed to provide exposure and experience to many facets of the sales process. Starting with the first rotation through the Internal Sales Desk, you'll have hands on experience to the Sales Support Specialist role; including sales training, dedicated time supporting wholesaler teams and foundational experience to sales calls and lead generation. Additional rotational opportunities through Marketing and/or Product Development will provide you to work on more concentrated projects.
What you will do
- Partner with internal and external wholesalers to drive territory sales through follow up of sales meeting and phone calls.
- Assist with running illustrations, sourcing marketing materials and helping inbound requests from financial professionals.
- Assist with product inquiries, product illustrations, updates on pending applications, and fulfilling orders for marketing material and sales literature.
- Campaign calling assistance--launch new products, identifying new sales opportunities and scheduling in person and virtual meetings for the wholesaling teams.
- Lead generation and data clean-up through Salesforce (CRM).
- Actively participating in meetings, group discussions and end of internship presentations to upper management.
Compensation
$22.00 hourly rate
Who you are
- Current student enrollment in college courses – Junior or higher status.
- Relevant Majors include; Finance, Economics, Business, Marketing, Communications, Entrepreneurial studies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technical/computer skills.
- Demonstrated success in a team environment.
- Detail oriented, self-motivated, and ability to multitask and problem-solve.
- Comfortable making outbound calls as well as receiving inbound calls.
