About Us:

Our purpose is to help clients exceed their financial health goals. Across the reimbursement cycle, our scalable solutions and clinical expertise help solve programmatic needs. Enabling our teams with leading technology allows analytics to guide our solutions and keeps us accountable achieving goals.

We build long-term careers by investing in YOU. We seek to create an environment that cultivates your professional development and personal growth, as we believe your success is our success.

JOB SUMMARY:

About the Role The Database Engineering team owns the data infrastructure behind CorroHealth's Utilization Management (UM) and Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) lines of business. That includes the ETL pipelines, integrations and databases that every downstream analytics product depends on. As a Database Engineer, you'll build and support mission-critical pipelines processing data on sometimes rapid frequencies. You'll work with operations and clinical stakeholders to turn business needs into reliable, well-documented data solutions. You'll report to the Director of Database Development & Operations and join a small team of experienced engineers.

This is remote position.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Note: The essential duties and responsibilities below are intended to describe the general duties and responsibilities of this position and are not intended to be an exhaustive statement of duties. This position may perform all or most of the primary duties listed below. Specific tasks, responsibilities or competencies may be documented in the Team Member’s performance objectives as outlined by the Team Member’s immediate Leadership Team Member.

Sadly, we are on high alert for scams, imposters and application fraud.

We employ comprehensive screening and verification methods. Any attempt at application fraud or misrepresentation will be identified and lead to immediate removal from consideration.

Permanent Work Status Required (USC or GC)

Employees must reside and work within the continental U.S.

This is a remote position.

What You'll Do

  • Build and maintain ETL pipelines: design, build and support data pipelines using T-SQL stored procedures, PowerShell and Python, orchestrated through JAMS and SQL Agent.
  • Work on integrations: develop and support bidirectional Salesforce ↔ SQL Server sync (Relational Junction, DBAmp) and secure file-based integrations (SFTP / GoAnywhere MFT) with clients and partners.
  • Design databases: create and evolve schemas, views, stored procedures and indexing strategies that scale with the business.
  • Tune performance: diagnose and fix slow queries and jobs using execution plans, Query Store, wait statistics and index analysis.
  • Ensure data quality: build validation and reconciliation checks so data stays accurate from source to report. Investigate and resolve discrepancies when they come up.
  • Build reporting: develop and maintain SSRS reports and Power BI datasets that support operations and decision-making.
  • Protect PHI: build solutions that meet HIPAA requirements, including least-privilege access, secure transfer and auditability.
  • Support production: monitor scheduled jobs, troubleshoot failures and drive root-cause fixes. Take part in on-call rotation for after-hours monitoring of critical jobs.
  • Follow engineering practices: use source control (Azure DevOps Git repositories), take part in code review, and follow change-management processes for production deployments.
  • Document your work: write and maintain technical documentation and runbooks, and help capture undocumented process knowledge.
  • Collaborate: work with operations leaders, analysts and clinical teams to clarify requirements and explain technical tradeoffs in plain language.

What You Bring

  • 3+ years of hands-on T-SQL development on Microsoft SQL Server
  • Strong command of stored procedures, query tuning, indexing and data modeling
  • Experience building and supporting production ETL processes, including scheduling, error handling and restartability
  • Scripting experience in PowerShell and/or Python for automation and integration
  • Experience working with healthcare data and an understanding of HIPAA obligations for PHI
  • Experience with SSRS and/or Power BI
  • Comfort with source control and working in a code-review culture
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or a related field, or equivalent practical experience

Nice to Have

  • Utilization management, clinical review, CDI, claims, denials or appeals data
  • Salesforce data integration (DBAmp, Relational Junction or similar)
  • JAMS or another enterprise job scheduler
  • Azure data services
  • Managed file transfer (GoAnywhere or similar)

How You Work

  • You chase a data discrepancy until you find its root cause, not just its symptom.
  • You can explain a pipeline failure to a non-technical operations lead and agree with them on next steps.
  • You document as you build, because you know someone else will support it at 2 a.m.
  • You manage competing priorities across several stakeholders without letting production quality slip.

We Offer

  • Quality of life with a remote predictable, full-time schedule
  • Competitive Salary commensurate to experience
  • Medical, Dental, Vision coverage and more
  • Long-term disability insurance, and life insurance
  • Ample parental leave
  • 401K with company match
  • Certification and Tuition Reimbursement
  • Holidays, Flexible Time Off

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Note: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions as described. Regular eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is required to operate office equipment. The ability to perform work at a computer terminal for 6-8 hours a day and function in an environment with constant interruptions is required. At times, Team Members are subject to sitting for prolonged periods. Infrequently, Team Member must be able to lift and move material weighing up to 20 lbs. Team Member may experience elevated levels of stress during periods of increased activity and with work entailing multiple deadlines.
A job description is only intended as a guideline and is only part of the Team Member’s function. The company has reviewed this job description to ensure that the essential functions and basic duties have been included. It is not intended to be construed as an exhaustive list of all functions, responsibilities, skills and abilities. Additional functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisors as deemed appropriate.
