SQL Developer - Data Migration Specialist (Part time)

We are currently looking for an experienced SQL Developer / CRM Data Migration Specialist to support a data migration project for a Canadian client.

This opportunity is ideal for professionals with strong SQL development skills, experience working with complex relational databases, and a background in data extraction and migration, particularly within CRM environments.

Role Overview

This is a hands-on, project-based technical role focused on SQL development, data extraction, database analysis, and CRM data migration.

You will work with existing database structures to identify relevant information, understand relationships between tables, and develop reliable processes to extract and prepare data for migration.

The project involves Sage CRM, so previous experience with this platform is highly valuable. However, we are also interested in professionals with strong SQL and data migration expertise who have worked with other CRM systems.

The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, comfortable navigating complex databases, and capable of working independently to solve technical challenges.

Location: Remote – Latin America

Working Hours & Project Duration

• Project-based engagement, with approximately 120 hours of work.
• Flexible schedule, with full-time or part-time availability depending on the candidate and project needs.
• Expected start date: ASAP.

Language Requirement: English proficiency sufficient to communicate effectively with international technical teams and stakeholders.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and optimize SQL scripts and complex queries to support data extraction and migration.
• Analyze relational database structures, tables, fields, and relationships.
• Identify appropriate table joins, database views, and queries to retrieve relevant information.
• Extract, transform, and prepare data from existing CRM systems for migration.
• Develop reliable, repeatable, and automated data extraction processes.
• Investigate complex data structures and resolve data extraction challenges.
• Validate extracted data to support accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Collaborate with technical stakeholders to understand data requirements and migration objectives.
• Document extraction logic, data relationships, and technical processes.
• Support the identification and resolution of data-related issues throughout the migration process.

What You’ll Bring

• Strong professional experience in SQL development, including complex queries, joins, views, and scripting.
• Hands-on experience working with relational databases and complex data structures.
• Practical experience in data extraction, transformation, and migration projects.
• Experience developing scripts or automated processes for data extraction.
• Strong understanding of database schemas, data relationships, and data integrity.
• Ability to analyze unfamiliar database environments and identify the information required for migration.
• Experience troubleshooting data inconsistencies and complex extraction scenarios.
• Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently, manage technical deliverables, and communicate progress effectively.

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Hands-on experience with Sage CRM, particularly its database architecture, tables, fields, and relationships.
• Previous experience extracting or migrating data from Sage CRM to another CRM platform.
• Experience with CRM data migrations involving platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365, Salesforce, or similar systems.
• Experience with ETL processes, data integration, or migration automation.
• Experience working with customized CRM databases or complex legacy systems.
• Background supporting short-term technical consulting or specialized migration projects.
