Great delivery isn't just about plans and status updates, it's about creating clarity, bringing the right people together and helping a team turn ambitious ideas into meaningful outcomes. As a Squad Delivery Lead within HBF's Data Analytics, you'll lead a multidisciplinary squad responsible for delivering products and initiatives that support HBF's broader organisational objectives.
You'll sit at the intersection of people leadership and delivery, helping the squad stay focused, work collaboratively and deliver quality outcomes within agreed scope, budget and timeframes, taking ownership of delivery while supporting the growth of your team. This is a 12-month max term opportunity based in Perth, Brisbane or Melbourne.
How you'll make an impact
- You'll provide day-to-day leadership for a small, cross-functional squad, connecting strategic priorities with practical execution and keeping delivery moving in the right direction as well as;
- Lead end-to-end delivery: Oversee products and deliverables from planning through to completion, making sure agreed scope, budget, quality and timing expectations are understood and managed.
- Turn priorities into action: Translate business objectives into clear, achievable delivery plans that give the squad focus and direction.
- Keep delivery on track: Monitor progress, identify risks and issues early, and work with the right people to resolve roadblocks.
- Bring people together: Facilitate clear communication across the squad and with stakeholders, creating shared understanding around priorities, decisions and delivery expectations.
- Build a strong squad culture: Create an environment where people share knowledge, collaborate openly, and take ownership of delivering great outcomes.
- Coach and develop your people: Provide regular feedback, mentoring and support to help squad members strengthen their technical and professional capability.
- Champion better ways of working: Encourage consistency, continuous improvement and practical Agile delivery practices across the squad.
About you
You're an organised and collaborative delivery leader who knows how to create momentum without losing sight of people, quality or the bigger picture.
You're comfortable stepping into complexity, creating structure and helping others understand what good delivery looks like. When challenges emerge, you bring a calm, practical approach and focus the team on solutions.
You also understand that high-performing squads aren't built through process alone, you take the time to coach people, encourage open communication and create an environment where team members feel supported to contribute, learn and take ownership.
You'll bring:
- Relevant experience in Project Management, Agile, Scrum or a related field
- Relevant delivery or project certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or MSP
- Experience managing squads within an Agile software development environment
- An understanding of the software development lifecycle
- Practical experience using Jira and Confluence
- Strong planning, organisation and delivery management skills and the confidence to present recommendations and work constructively with stakeholders
