Position Summary EBI Consulting is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team. This role owns the month-end close process, including the large majority of balance sheet account reconciliations, while maintaining accurate financial records, assisting in the preparation of financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations. We are looking for a well-rounded accountant with working knowledge across the back office — general ledger, AP, AR, treasury, and revenue — who can also support payroll processing and expense report management. This role offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, develop and refine technical accounting skills, contribute to financial decision-making, and support the company's growth. This position reports directly to the Director of Accounting and will be a hybrid role, with the expectation of three days per week on-site in our Burlington, MA corporate headquarters. Therefore, candidates will need to be geographically close to Burlington, MA and comfortable working in a hybrid environment to be considered. Essential Duties and Responsibilities General Ledger Management & Month-End Close: Assist with maintaining and reconciling the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness Own and complete the large majority of month-end balance sheet account reconciliations, researching and resolving variances Assist with treasury management with cash applications and assisting the director of accounting with cash forecasting Prepare journal entries for various financial transactions Collaboration and Cross Training: Collaborate with FP&A to assist with tracking KPIs and budget variances Work in partnership with AP to ensure costs are landing in the correct GL accounts and departments Work closely with AR to ensure incoming cash is applied timely and appropriately Revenue Review: Run revenue in the system weekly and perform high level variance analysis Review project financials as needed and reconcile any revenue recognition issues Optimize and Automate: Streamline the month end close process and deploy AI wherever possible to automate manual work Consistently evaluate day to day processes to automate whenever possible Payroll and Expense Report Oversight: Provide day-to-day support and quality review of payroll processing performed by the Payroll Coordinator, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and proper GL coding Serve as a cross-trained backup and provide payroll processing coverage when needed Own the expense and travel policy and ensure travel and credit card costs are coded correctly Help evaluate and optimize expense report software Audit and Compliance: Assist in the preparation for external financial statement audit and tax returns Assist the Director of Accounting with ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations Provide iterative improvements to the internal control environment Qualifications and Capabilities Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 3+ year in accounting roles with escalating responsibility Excel Expertise Strong knowledge of accounting principles, and revenue recognition Hands-on experience owning month-end close and balance sheet account reconciliations required Working knowledge across back-office accounting functions (AP, AR, payroll, treasury, revenue) preferred Experience with NetSuite and Salesforce preferred Experience reviewing, auditing, or providing oversight of payroll and expense report processes preferred Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines Strong organizational and time management abilities Application Disclaimer At EBI, we cultivate a welcoming and collaborative culture. The salary range describes the minimum to maximum base salary range for this position across applicable US locations. This position may also be eligible for a bonus whereby total compensation may exceed base salary depending on individual performance. The actual compensation offered will be based on a range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to; geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements, knowledge, skills/level, qualifications and budget.
