The Senior Bookkeeper is a full-time, 100% remote role responsible for maintaining accurate and timely financial records to support Suave’s operations. Day-to-day tasks include recording and reconciling transactions, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and assisting with the preparation of financial statements. The role involves managing bookkeeping processes, monitoring accounts, and collaborating with finance and accounting stakeholders to ensure data integrity and compliance with internal policies. The Senior Bookkeeper will also help optimize accounting software, support month-end and year-end close activities, and provide insights to improve financial workflows and reporting.
- Manage daily bookkeeping operations, general ledger maintenance, and bank/account reconciliations.
- Prepare, review, and post accurately balanced journal entries.
- Assist in the preparation, analysis, and review of financial statements.
- Support month-end and year-end financial close activities.
- Collaborate with finance, accounting, and non-finance teams to maintain data integrity and enforce internal controls.
- Help refine financial workflows, software usage, and accounting best practices across the team.
- 5+ years of experience in senior or advanced bookkeeping or accounting roles (experience within fintech, retail, or payments industries is highly desirable).
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong core knowledge of financial statements, ledger maintenance, and general finance principles.
- High proficiency in preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Hands-on experience with modern accounting software. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central is a plus, but not required.
- Exceptional attention to detail, analytical skills, and a demonstrated ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills with a collaborative approach to cross-functional work.
- Familiarity with financial services regulatory and compliance considerations is an advantage.
