As a Sr Director Data Science within Optum Insight Financial Systems, you will lead a dedicated team of Business Analysts and Product Managers in partnering with Optum Technology to create, evolve, and own the Optum Insight data mart. In this high-impact leadership role, you will define team vision, translate strategy into actionable product roadmaps, manage backlogs, and oversee tech/data product delivery and automated SOX control testing. You will champion data-driven innovation and modern system integrations to transform financial processes and empower strategic decision-making across the enterprise. You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges. For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week. Primary Responsibilities: Drive a team of Business Analysts and Product Managers in partnership with Optum Technology to create and own the Optum Insight data mart Drive cross-functional teams to translate strategic priorities into technical product features and functional requirements for tool development Manage product vision, product definitions, and multi-year roadmaps while guiding teams to manage and refine backlogs effectively Oversee teams accountable for technology and data product build plans, prioritization, and execution Manage teams performing initial product testing, data tie-outs, and automated SOX controls prior to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) Collaborate with executive leadership and key stakeholders to align financial systems strategy with broader business objectives You'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualifications: 15+ years of experience in finance, accounting, and/or financial systems 10+ years of experience in finance transformation or building and owning financial systems 5+ years of experience leading and managing cross-functional teams (such as business analysts, product managers, or technical leads) Demonstrated track record of communicating and influencing effectively across all levels of an organization, including executive leadership Preferred Qualifications: Six Sigma training or certification Project Management (PMP) training or certification Experience and knowledge of AI integration with enterprise business systems *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group's Telecommuter Policy. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The salary for this role will range from $159,300 - $273,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
