Role Summary
Reporting to the VP, Market Access, the Senior Director of Access Strategy is a critical leadership role, responsible for translating the company's overarching brand strategy into effective, tangible access solutions. As a key people leader, this individual will spearhead the Access Strategy team, driving the comprehensive development and meticulous execution of market access strategies. This position is pivotal in expertly navigating the dynamic and evolving healthcare landscape, ensuring optimal and sustainable market access for the company's entire portfolio, while rigorously aligning all access initiatives with broader brand imperatives and strategic organizational objectives.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Translate Brand Imperatives into Access Solutions: Collaborate closely with brand marketing teams to fully understand brand strategies and objectives, and work across teams within Market Access to identify and execute access solutions that drive brand priorities.
- Coordinate Access Planning: Coordinate across various market access functions to lead integration efforts, and develop robust product launch and lifecycle access plans for the full portfolio of products,
- Lead Market Access Strategy Team: Serve as a people leader, guiding and developing the Market Access Strategy team.
- Monitor Healthcare Landscape: In collaboration with key cross-functional teams, including Policy, National Accounts, Patient Services, Marketing, and Commercial Intelligence, continuously monitor shifts in healthcare policy, competitor pricing strategies, and institutional barriers. Proactively identify implications of market changes on the company's portfolio and develop effective mitigating strategies.
- Develop Economic Value Stories: Work with the National Account team and Medical Affairs to translate complex clinical data into clear, compelling economic value stories that resonate with budget decision-makers. Oversee transformation of value propositions into tangible payer materials designed to effectively communicate product benefits to key stakeholders.
- Align Evidence Generation: Collaborate with marketing, medical affairs, regulatory, and policy teams to ensure evidence generation activities are aligned with critical market access needs.
- Coordinate Global Strategies: Work in conjunction with Global Market Access counterparts to coordinate and integrate cross-border access strategies.
- Support Pipeline & Business Development: Provide crucial market access inputs for pipeline assets and contribute to business development deals.
Education and Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred
- 12+ years of pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience, with at least 8 years specifically in Market Access (such as Patient Services, Reimbursement Strategy, Pricing & Contracting, Payer Account Management, Trade & Distribution)
- Demonstrated experience in leading and developing market access teams and strategies within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry (Oncology, Neurology or Rare Diseases is highly preferred).
- In-depth understanding of healthcare policy, pricing strategies, and market access dynamics with ability to translate complex topics into clear, actionable strategies and communications.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to influence effectively across diverse functional areas
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills with demonstrated adaptability and proactive decision-making in a dynamic environment.

Salary Range
The salary range for this role is $241,000-$316,000. An employee’s pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, and business or organizational needs. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and the range may be modified in the future. Employees in this position are also eligible for Short-Term and Long-Term incentive programs.
