The Sr. Director of Product, EHR/eMAR will own product strategy and execution for Residex’s EHR and eMAR capabilities across the senior living and hospice continuum, ensuring clinical documentation, medication administration, and compliance workflows meet the rigorous demands of senior living, skilled nursing, and hospice care. This role provides first-level supervision of the product and software engineers aligned to EHR/eMAR, and partners closely with the General Manager of the Thea EHR/eMAR line of business across product, business, and operational priorities.
Responsibilities include:
- Serve as right hand and back-up to the General Manager of the Thea EHR/eMAR line of business—partnering on strategic priorities, business performance, and operational decisions, representing the GM’s priorities across Product, Engineering, and go-to-market teams, and leading and positively influencing the broad team to achieve OKRs, including Profit & Loss (P&L), Sales, Brand, and Customer Loyalty.
- Own the Thea® vision, the AI roadmap, and execution for Residex’s EHR and eMAR capabilities—from clinical documentation and care planning to medication administration, physician orders, and survey-ready compliance records.
- Supervise Product Managers and Business Analysts aligned to the EHR/eMAR portfolio—setting development plans, conducting performance reviews, and ensuring adherence to company and departmental policies, procedures, and product standards.
- Translate deep domain expertise in senior living, assisted living, skilled nursing, and hospice care into product requirements—including EHR/eMAR workflows, PRN and controlled-substance documentation, physician order management, and interdisciplinary team (IDT) care planning for hospice.
- Own compliance-by-design for EHR/eMAR: ensure the platform produces defensible, survey-ready documentation that satisfies state licensing surveys and CMS Conditions of Participation, and—for hospice—Medicare Hospice Benefit documentation requirements (certifications of terminal illness, face-to-face encounters, plans of care).
- Partner with Engineering on EHR/eMAR architecture and interoperability—HL7/FHIR data exchange, pharmacy and lab integrations—and the clinical data model underlying THEA’s clinical guardrails and recommendations.
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to position EHR/eMAR capabilities competitively, support customer-facing demos and discovery, and ensure go-to-market materials reflect current clinical and regulatory depth.
- Engage directly with clinicians, caregivers, hospice IDT members, and facility administrators through discovery interviews and validation sessions to keep EHR/eMAR decisions grounded in real clinical and operational workflows.
- Establish product metrics and KPIs for EHR/eMAR adoption, documentation completion, and medication administration accuracy; iterate based on usage data and customer feedback.
Minimum requirements:
- 15+ years of product management experience, with 3+ years in a senior leadership capacity at B2B SaaS companies—healthcare, senior living, or hospice strongly preferred.
- Deep, hands-on expertise with EHR and eMAR systems in senior living, skilled nursing, assisted living, or hospice settings, including medication administration workflows, physician orders, and clinical documentation.
- Working knowledge of the state and federal regulatory frameworks governing senior living and hospice documentation.
- Proven ability to translate clinical and regulatory requirements into product requirements, data models, and configurable workflows.
- Strong technical acumen, with experience collaborating with engineering teams on complex, integrated clinical platforms.
- Track record managing product managers and/or business analysts, with experience building clear product ownership models.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to represent clinical and product depth to customers, clinicians, and executive stakeholders.
- Data-driven mindset, with experience using analytics to inform product decisions and measure documentation quality, adoption, and clinical outcomes.
