As a Sr. frontend Engineer or Team Lead at Infotech, you'll play a key role in modernizing the products behind how our nation's roads and infrastructure are built. Specifically working to help evolve a desktop application to a web-based experience. You'll inherit an established UX/UI foundation and help evolve it into a faster, more accessible, more consistent experience for our customers.
Who we are looking for
You'll use frontend engineering best practices to turn design artifacts into polished, accessible interfaces across our commercial product applications. You understand the business your code supports, and you execute at a high level. Beyond writing clean, testable code, you'll work with peers to evolve our architecture across full stack and split stack applications, so solutions stay practical, maintainable, and aligned with product goals.
You're also collaborative and communicative, and you're comfortable working with AI tooling. We're looking for people with an AI-first mindset who see these tools as a natural part of how great software gets built.
At the Team Lead level, you'll also guide the direction of the modernization effort, help set standards for the team, and support the growth of the engineers around you.
What it's like to be an engineer on our frontend team
Our vision
We build software that makes our customers' jobs easier, faster, and less complicated. We do this by learning their challenges, solving problems in thoughtful ways, and always looking for ways to improve.
Our culture
We're a close-knit group of curious, talented people who care about the work we do and the people we work with. On our team, you'll find that we are:
- Curious and open. We ask questions, explore options, and stay open to new ideas.
- Creative and lighthearted. We believe work is better with a little fun.
- Relaxed and approachable while also being ambitious and technically sharp.
- Focused on our customers and driven to solve real problems.
- Empowering and supportive. We succeed by helping each other succeed.
- Energized and communicative. We value clear, open collaboration and trust.
- Always evolving. We love a good technical challenge and use it to grow together.
What will you do in this role?
- Collaborate with peers, product teams, backend engineers, and designers to shape frontend functionality that balances user experience, business goals, and rapid time-to-market.
- Design and build frontend features that are clean, scalable, fast, and accessible, while maintaining the shared design system and reusable components.
- Write straightforward, testable code that follows standards, with attention to usability, security, and reliability.
- Help build a unified user experience across products, using Figma to capture our existing design language and evolve it thoughtfully.
- Take part in the full development process, sharing knowledge and contributing to consistent practices across teams.
- Support and modernize existing applications, keeping them reliable, secure, and aligned with current practices while delivering new features.
- Contribute to technical direction by evaluating new approaches and building on strong existing practices.
- Stay current with modern frontend tooling and evolving browser capabilities to keep solutions performant and future-ready.
- Partner across teams to expand the use of AI-assisted and spec-driven development and explore new ways to integrate them into daily workflows.
- (Team Lead) Provide technical leadership for the modernization effort, mentor engineers, and help build and grow the team.
The technical chops needed for this role
We know great engineers pick up new tools and approaches quickly, so depth and adaptability matter more than checking every box. That said, we expect proven, hands-on experience in the areas below. You don't need to cover everything, but you should feel confident operating at a senior level and contributing meaningfully from day one.
