This Is How We Fly
At JSX, we’re not just a lifestyle carrier – we’re a lifestyle employer. Here, entrepreneurship meets determination, and excellence is our standard. We believe that the journey is just as important as the destination, and every day, we strive to create a Joyful, Simple eXperience for our Customers. Join us, and find your runway to growth, innovation, and success.
About the Role
The Senior Manager, Aircraft Maintenance Fleet Support leads the essential equipment, tooling, and maintenance support programs that keep JSX's aircraft maintenance operation running safely, reliably, and efficiently.
You'll oversee Ground Support Equipment (GSE), aircraft maintenance tooling, calibrated tools, shop support equipment, and small tooling repair programs across the JSX network. Your focus will be ensuring that maintenance teams have access to serviceable equipment, dependable processes, and responsive vendor support to execute their work without unnecessary delays.
This is a highly collaborative leadership role that connects Technical Operations with Maintenance, Quality, Materials, Engineering, Training, and station leadership. You'll develop consistent standards, strengthen equipment and asset accountability, manage vendor performance, and use operational data to identify opportunities to improve reliability and reduce downtime.
You'll also lead and develop your team, manage budgets and capital planning, and help build scalable support programs that meet the needs of JSX's growing operation.
A Day in the Life
In this role, you'll:
- Lead the GSE department, overseeing preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, asset management, vendor coordination, and equipment readiness.
- Manage the aircraft maintenance tooling program, ensuring tools are available, properly distributed, accounted for, inspected, calibrated, repaired, and replaced as needed.
- Oversee small tooling repair processes to ensure serviceable equipment is returned to operation quickly and maintained in accordance with established standards.
- Develop and maintain procedures, standards, and controls for GSE, tooling, calibrated equipment, and shop support assets in alignment with JSX policies, Technical Operations requirements, and applicable regulations.
- Partner with Maintenance, Quality, Materials, Engineering, Training, and station leadership to anticipate and address equipment and tooling needs across the network.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators for GSE reliability, tooling availability, repair turnaround time, preventive maintenance compliance, calibration status, inventory accuracy, and equipment readiness.
- Identify recurring equipment failures, tooling shortages, and maintenance support constraints, then develop and execute corrective action plans.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance, tooling assignments, inspections, repairs, calibration, inventory, and asset movement.
- Manage relationships with vendors providing GSE maintenance, tooling repair, calibration, replacement equipment, and technical support.
- Lead budget planning, cost management, purchasing recommendations, and capital planning for GSE, tooling, shop equipment, and other fleet support assets.
- Ensure employees and vendors follow applicable safety standards, company procedures, and workplace expectations.
- Provide leadership, coaching, performance management, training coordination, and professional development for assigned Crewmembers.
- Conduct station visits, field inspections, and periodic audits to evaluate equipment condition, tooling accountability, operational needs, and process compliance.
- Support investigations and corrective actions involving equipment damage, tool control discrepancies, maintenance delays, and other support challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that increase equipment availability, reduce downtime, strengthen asset visibility, and improve maintenance execution.
- Provide responsive support for time-sensitive maintenance and operational needs, including irregular operations.
Why You'll Love This Role:
- Keep the Operation Moving: Your work directly supports the equipment and tooling that JSX maintenance teams rely on to keep aircraft safe, serviceable, and ready to fly.
- Make an Impact Across the Network: Lead fleet support programs that serve multiple stations and maintenance locations, improving consistency, readiness, and reliability across JSX.
- Build Smarter Systems: Develop scalable processes for equipment maintenance, tooling control, calibration, asset tracking, and vendor management.
- Drive Measurable Improvements: Use performance data, inspections, and operational feedback to reduce equipment downtime, improve repair turnaround times, and strengthen maintenance support.
- Lead and Develop a Team: Build a culture of accountability, technical expertise, and continuous improvement while helping your Crewmembers grow.
- Work Across Technical Operations: Collaborate with Maintenance, Engineering, Quality, Materials, and station leaders to solve challenges that directly affect operational performance.
What Makes a Successful Senior Manager, Aircraft Maintenance Fleet Support?
We're looking for someone who is:
- Safety-Focused: You understand the importance of equipment readiness, tooling accountability, and regulatory compliance in supporting safe aircraft maintenance.
- Operationally Minded: You recognize how equipment failures, tooling shortages, and delayed repairs can affect maintenance execution and aircraft availability.
- Proactive: You anticipate support needs, identify emerging issues, and address potential problems before they disrupt the operation.
- Analytical: You use performance metrics, maintenance records, and field feedback to identify trends and guide improvements.
- Organized: You can manage multiple programs, vendors, assets, and operational priorities across a distributed network.
- Collaborative: You build productive relationships with technical teams, station leadership, suppliers, and external service providers.
- Accountable: You take ownership of equipment readiness, vendor performance, cost management, and the results delivered by your team.
- Adaptable: You remain focused and responsive when priorities shift or time-sensitive operational challenges arise.
- Entrepreneurial: You look for better ways to manage resources, strengthen processes, and build reliable support programs that help JSX grow.
