Glen Raven is recruiting for a Sr Manager Design Trade Sales which rives Sunbrella's sales growth and influence in the design trade through direct engagement with interior designers, design firms, and trade partners, with a primary focus on the residential market. This role owns relationships in priority markets, delivers high-impact presentations, and represents Sunbrella at key industry events, with the goal of increasing specification and use of Sunbrella fabrics, finished products, and products made with Sunbrella textiles, both directly and through partners (for example, Sunbrella fabrics on finished furniture).

The role works closely with the Manager, Design Trade Marketing and collaborates with internal teams (Design, Sales, Business Unit Sales) and external partners (manufacturers, retailers, jobbers) to coordinate—and at times lead—their efforts to make Sunbrella offerings more accessible and desirable to designers.

This role is ideal for a sales professional with a strong understanding of the design trade, a passion for home décor, trends, and aesthetics, and a hunter mentality, who excels at building deep, lasting relationships with interior designers and design firms. You will be a key team member, responsible for providing exceptional service, thinking creatively around how to set the Sunbrella brand apart, and representing Sunbrella with style and expertise.

This role is ideally located at our corporate headquarters or near a significant design hub; if the candidate is located near a design hub regular travel to our headquarters for in-person collaboration and events is expected. In either situation, travel to other markets for designer interactions, insights, and events is also anticipated.

Responsibilities:

  • Designer Relationship Management
    • Build and maintain strong, senior-level relationships with interior designers, design firms, and key influencers in priority markets.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to designers, helping them specify and integrate Sunbrella fabrics and products across their projects.
    • Deliver high-impact sales presentations and product knowledge sessions tailored to design firms’ needs – both in client locations and Sunbrella locations
    • Identify design industry prospects, use CRM systems to maintain database of contacts, execute outreach to influence use/purchases.
  • Prospecting and sales growth
    • Identify design industry prospects, maintain a contact database in the CRM, and run outreach that influences use and purchases.
    • Identify high-potential markets, firms, and segments for deeper engagement, and contribute to sales growth strategies.

    • Own sales results and report progress against goals.
  • Market presence and partner collaboration
    • Represent Sunbrella at major design industry events, as well as brand-specific activations, serving as a visible and credible voice for the brand.
    • Work with the furnishings business unit and partners (furniture manufacturers, retailers, jobbers) to connect designers to Sunbrella finished furnishings and collections and drive sales through those channels.
    • Support trade program growth by recruiting qualified designers into the program and helping them get value from it.
    • Develop and execute designer ‘loyalty program’ to measure the value of designers’ specifying/buying Sunbrella fabric-products through partners and reward designers for those selections.
  • Market intelligence and results tracking
    • Gather field intelligence on designer needs, purchasing behavior, competitor programs, and industry trends, and share actionable insights with leadership for product development, marketing, and service enhancements.
    • Contribute to sales growth strategies by identifying high-potential markets, firms, and segments for deeper engagement.
      • Feed designer feedback to the marketing team to improve program benefits and the digital experience.
      • Track results and provide input on metrics for measuring growth and impact.

    Experience & Education:

    • BA in business, management, marketing, interior design, or related field
    • At least 5 years of progressive sales or business development experience, ideally in textiles, furnishings, home décor, or design-related industries.
