About NovaSource
NovaSource Power Services is the world’s #1-ranked solar operations and maintenance (O&M) provider and insight-driven total asset optimization partner for renewables asset owners ready to fuel smart growth. With over 20 years of operating experience and a presence on 5 continents, NovaSource has the global reach and strategic capabilities to achieve our clients’ renewables goals around the world.
NovaSource’s comprehensive approach to total asset optimization in addition to O&M services includes value engineering, performance analysis, strategic supply chain management, and advanced monitoring systems. The company operates in key global markets managing over 30GW of solar power plants. NovaSource’s expertise extends beyond solar and includes battery energy storage systems (BESS), offering a complete suite of services for the evolving renewable energy landscape.
About the role
NovaSource Power Services is looking for a Senior Manager to lead our Enterprise Applications team and own enterprise architecture governance across the company. You will be accountable for the application platforms that run our business, including ServiceMax, Dynamics 365 Business Central, the Azure integration layer, Zoho and our Microsoft low-code estate, and for the team that runs them as products.
You will chair our Architecture Review Board, set the standards that every new design must meet, and own the vendor relationships that deliver and support the stack. You will also lead our order to cash transformation program, which is moving billing from spreadsheet-driven processes to system-governed automation, and shape the application roadmap that follows it.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will make architecture and scope decisions, hold vendors to their commitments, develop your team, and report program value to executive leadership.
What you will do
Lead the platforms
- Own the health, cost and roadmap of the enterprise application stack, and set the platform strategy and sequencing of program phases.
- Run the platforms as products, with business product owners prioritizing what is built and technical product owners approving production releases.
- Manage the Azure run cost for the integration layer and the licensing position for each platform, with budget alerts and a quarterly review.
Govern the architecture
- Chair the Architecture Review Board, maintain the architecture decision records and integration standard, and decide which designs proceed to build.
- Define and maintain use-case tiers and control sets for automation and AI, so approval effort is proportionate to risk.
- Personally review integration designs, data ownership decisions and platform choices, and challenge vendor designs before build rather than after.
- Own the target state for the application landscape and keep the current-state inventory accurate.
Deliver through vendors
- Own statements of work for the stack, including authoring scope, negotiating commercials, holding vendors to milestones and acceptance criteria, and managing change control.
- Accept or reject vendor deliverables against defined acceptance criteria, and escalate early when milestones are at risk.
- Own the transition of every delivered component into support, including documentation, runbooks and knowledge transfer.
Run operations and support
- Own the application support service, including its scope, service levels and the quarterly review with the provider.
- Set and enforce the release management process and change record across the team and vendors. No production change happens outside the record.
- Ensure every integration has a named owner, monitoring, alerting and a replay procedure.
Build the team
- Manage the technical product owners and analysts. Set objectives, develop capability and plan succession for each platform.
- Establish the Business Central technical function, which does not exist today, around the new product owner.
Deliver value
- Report program value to leadership against baseline measures, including credit memo reduction, manual touch count and unbilled aging.
- Maintain the business case for each program phase and bring the next phase to leadership with scope, cost and expected return.
Decision rights
You decide | Architecture and integration standards. Vendor scope and acceptance. The operating model, release process and change record. What the Architecture Review Board approves. Platform roadmap sequencing within approved budget. |
You recommend | Program investment and phasing. Platform licensing and tooling spend. Team structure and hiring. |
Others decide | Business priorities and contract interpretation stay with the business product owners. Individual production releases are delegated to the technical product owners. Infrastructure, identity and end-user computing sit elsewhere in Enterprise IT. |
What success looks like in your first year
- Billing transformation is delivered within the fixed price and accepted into support with no open severity 1 or 2 defects.
- Every production change in the stack passes through the release process and the change record.
- Every integration has an owner, monitoring and a replay procedure, and every new design passes the Architecture Review Board before build.
- Credit memo reduction is tracked against baseline and reported to leadership quarterly.
- Business Central technical ownership is established and the configuration of record is current for both platforms.
- Future phases are scoped, priced and approved.
What you will bring
Required
- Ten or more years in enterprise applications, including at least three years leading a team that owns platforms rather than projects.
- Experience chairing or running an architecture governance forum and maintaining its decision records.
- A track record of owning vendor-delivered programs end to end, including authoring scope, negotiating fixed-price statements of work and managing acceptance.
- The ability to read an integration design, a data model and a statement of work and identify the problems in each.
- Experience running a release management process with a change record across more than one platform.
- Experience managing an application support provider against service levels.
Preferred
- Salesforce or ServiceMax, and Dynamics 365 Business Central.
- Azure integration services (Logic Apps, Service Bus) and Power Platform governance.
- Background in field service, energy or asset management.
- Experience establishing governance for AI and automation use cases, including human review controls for agents that write to systems of record.
- Order to cash or billing process experience.
Who you are
- Decisive. You make architecture and scope decisions with incomplete information and document your reasoning.
- Firm. You hold vendors and your team to process and acceptance criteria when schedules are under pressure.
- A clear writer. Your scope documents, decision records and executive reports are plain enough for non-technical readers to act on.
- A translator. You move comfortably between billing analysts, field operations, finance and engineers.
- A developer of people. You grow technical product owners into platform leaders.
Location and travel
This role is based in Chandler, AZ or Houston, TX. We will consider remote candidates with travel to Chandler as the work requires, typically one week a month during program delivery, plus occasional site visits. The role works with offshore delivery teams, so some early morning availability is expected.
