Role Summary
Provides strategic leadership and subject matter expertise for the firm’s AML and sanctions programs, including oversight of financial crimes risks associated with crypto and digital-asset products. The role advises senior stakeholders, interprets regulatory requirements, leads complex cross-functional initiatives, and evaluates the effectiveness of policies, procedures, and controls. The Senior Manager also supports governance and escalation, drives sustainable program improvements, and develops colleagues while promoting consistent, risk-based compliance across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Provides strategic leadership and guidance on AML and sanctions laws, regulatory expectations, risks, controls, and program priorities.
- Leads complex initiatives, including regulatory change, risk assessments, policy and control enhancements, issue remediation, and cross-functional implementation.
- Advises senior management on high-risk clients, transactions, products, sanctions matters, and other sensitive financial crimes issues, recommending appropriate risk-based actions.
- Provides AML and sanctions oversight for crypto and digital-asset products, including the firm’s crypto exchange-traded product, and assesses risks related to trading activity, counterparties, wallets, and transaction flows.
- Partners with Legal, the Financial Intelligence Unit, business management, operations, and technology to identify control gaps, establish expectations, and monitor corrective actions.
- Maintains effective governance, reporting, and escalation practices and communicates material risks, issues, and program developments to senior stakeholders.
- Builds strong relationships across the organization and provides coaching, technical direction, and development support to colleagues.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience, with substantial experience in AML, sanctions, financial crimes compliance, legal, risk management, investigations, audit, or a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of AML and sanctions requirements, regulatory expectations, and industry practices, with experience assessing financial crimes risks and the effectiveness of related controls.
- Crypto AML experience or strong working knowledge of crypto markets, trading, exchange-traded products, blockchain transactions, wallet structures, intermediaries, and related financial crimes risks and controls.
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional initiatives, manage competing priorities, advise senior management, and influence outcomes in a global, matrixed organization.
- Strong leadership, judgment, analytical, and relationship-management skills, including experience coaching colleagues and promoting accountability and high-quality work.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex issues and practical recommendations clearly to varied audiences.
Preferred:
- Advanced degree or professional financial crimes certification, such as Association of Certified Anti-Laundering Specialist (ACAMS).

FINRA licenses are not required and will not be supported for this role.
Work Flexibility
This role is eligible for hybrid work, with up to one day per week from home.
Base Salary Ranges

$110,000.00 - $188,000.00 for the location of: Maryland, Colorado, Washington and remote workers$121,000.00 - $207,000.00 for the location of: Washington, D.C.
$138,000.00 - $236,000.00 for the location of: New York, California
Placement within the range provided above is based on the individual’s relevant experience and skills for the role. Base salary is only one component of our total compensation package. Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus, which is determined upon company and individual performance.
