What you will be doing:
The Senior Manager, Integrated Media Planning, OXO serves as the brand’s day-to-day media planning lead and primary strategic counterpart to the Media Agency of Record (AOR). Reporting to the Marketing Director, OXO, this role translates OXO business, brand, category, retail, e-commerce, DTC, social, creator, and promotional priorities into integrated full-funnel media strategies, investment recommendations, learning agendas, and activation plans. The Senior Manager leads agency briefing, planning, optimization, and accountability within approved budget and decision guardrails, elevating material strategic choices and major reallocations to the Marketing Director and relevant business owners.
This role owns OXO-specific media strategy and planning workflow, agency governance, cross-functional synthesis, execution readiness, and optimization recommendations. The Marketing COE remains accountable for enterprise standards, governance, measurement and audience frameworks, platform expertise, benchmarking, capability building, and cross-brand best practices.
- Serve as OXO's day-to-day media planning lead and primary agency counterpart, driving briefs, planning inputs, consolidated feedback, optimization recommendations, and agency direction within approved strategic and budget guardrails. Escalate key media decisions and recommendations to the Marketing Director for final review and approval.
- Lead annual and quarterly media planning by translating OXO business, brand, category, product-launch, retail, promotional, e-commerce, DTC, social, and creator priorities into actionable briefs, full-funnel media architecture, investment scenarios, flighting, and campaign plans.
- Integrate inputs from Brand, Retail Sales, Amazon, Target, Walmart, DTC/eCommerce, Social, Influencer/Creator, Finance, Marketing COE Media & Analytics, and agency partners into one coherent OXO media strategy and set of agency directions.
- Lead day-to-day media planning and activation governance across paid social, search, programmatic, display, online video/CTV, retail media, e-commerce, and DTCperformance channels, ensuring channel roles work together across the consumer journey.
- Lead the OXO media workplan and execution-readiness process ensuring planning milestones, creative and asset requirements, approvals, pacing, performance, and QA dependencies, with optimization recommendation and risks, escalated before they affect launch timing or business results.
- Synthesize performance into a clear business POV: what happened, why it happened, the recommended action, expected impact, decision owner, and implications for future investment. Prepare executive-ready updates for Marketing Director and maintain a decision and learning record across campaigns.
- Partner upstream with Integrated Marketing, Social, Creator/UGC, Influencer, Brand Design, DTC, and Retail teams so media strategy shapes creative planning early, including asset architecture, mandatory specifications, platform roles, testing variables, and refresh cadence. Hold the Media AOR accountable for timely, complete creative trackers and clearly distinguishing required versus recommended assets.
- Lead the connection between media and creative performance, translating channel, audience, placement, and content learnings into test hypotheses, optimization actions, and future briefs for Brand Design, social, creators, and agency partners.
- Lead the day-to-day strategic relationship with the Media AOR, setting expectations for recommendation quality, analytical rigor, timelines, executional readiness, reporting, optimization, and issue resolution.
- Pressure-test agency recommendations against business objectives, historical performance, incrementality, attribution, audience strategy, channel economics, creative feasibility, and retailer/DTC priorities before recommendations move to business approval.
- Own OXO’s annual media learning agenda in partnership with Marketing COE, Analytics, retailers, and the Media AOR, including hypotheses, test design, success criteria, decision rules, and how each learning will change future investment.
- Translate consumer segmentation, Gen Z growth priorities, first-party data, retailer audiences, and platform signals into a clear audience hierarchy and activation strategy across campaigns and channels.
- Support Marketing Director in developing media investment scenarios for incremental funding, reductions, or reallocations, clearly articulating assumptions, reach/revenue implications, KPI tradeoffs, risks, and recommended action.
- Partner with Finance, AOR, and business owners to maintain alignment between approved plans, flowcharts, pacing, dashboards, forecasts, and budget changes.
- Establish clear optimization guardrails and decision rights, enabling routine agency actions while escalating material budget shifts, strategic changes, or business risks for approval.
Skills needed to be successful in this role:
- Demonstrated ability to translate business and marketing priorities into annual and quarterly media strategies, audience plans, investment recommendations, agency briefs, creative requirements, performance expectations, and optimization actions.
- Strong command of media measurement, pacing, budget stewardship, forecasting, attribution, incrementality, brand-lift and business-outcome measurement, with the ability to convert complex results into executive-ready recommendations and investment decisions.
- Analytical and financial acumen, with the ability to interrogate assumptions, identify performance drivers, evaluate channel economics, model scenarios, and recommend where the next media dollar should go.
- Experience designing or leading learning agendas, audience tests, creative tests, measurement plans, and decision frameworks that influence future investment.
- Exceptional operating discipline and project leadership, with the ability to manage interconnected annual planning, campaign delivery, agency workflows, creative dependencies, optimization cycles, and competing business priorities without sacrificing strategic quality.
- Proven ability to connect paid media with social, creator/UGC, influencer, PR, owned channels, retail activation, and creative production.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, Business, Analytics, or a related field.
- 7+ years of progressively responsible experience in integrated media strategy and planning, including significant ownership of media-agency relationships, complex budgets, and full-funnel plans spanning brand, retail media, e-commerce, DTC, paid social, search, programmatic, display, and online video/CTV.
- Demonstrated experience leading a Media AOR or major client relationship, elevating agency recommendations, resolving cross-functional tradeoffs, consolidating feedback, and driving decisions in a complex matrixed organization.
- Strong working knowledge of Amazon Ads/Amazon DSP, Walmart Connect, Target Roundel, and other relevant retail media networks, including how retail media integrates with national brand, social, search, and DTC investment.
- Experience in consumer products, retail, housewares, or another omnichannel environment with meaningful Amazon, Walmart, Target, and DTC exposure strongly preferred.
- Brand-side experience preferred; agency candidates should have substantial client-lead responsibility, ownership of integrated recommendations, and direct exposure to senior business stakeholders.
- Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
