Responsibilities
Senior Marketing Operations Manager
This role is responsible for making MarCom work easier to see, coordinate, implement, and complete. Across each area of focus, the work is grounded in the same operating behaviors: creating structure, maintaining project flow, coordinating people and timelines, documenting next steps, following up on decisions, and helping strategy developed by MarCom leadership move into action. The role also requires a practical willingness to do parts of the work directly, such as building draft frameworks, editing stakeholder contributions, preparing implementation materials, or posting approved content through established platforms.
Core Project Management and Implementation
- Translate goals, requests, and leadership direction into practical project plans, timelines, owners, milestones, review steps, approvals, handoffs, decision points, next steps, and implementation materials.
- Provide hands-on implementation support when needed to maintain momentum, including building draft skeletons or templates, organizing contributed content, editing stakeholder inputs, preparing working materials, and completing practical production steps within established strategy and brand direction.
- Maintain shared visibility into active and upcoming work, including deadlines, deliverables, dependencies, decision needs, and capacity considerations.
- Identify blockers, risks, gaps, and competing priorities early; elevate questions and recommendations to MarCom senior leadership when direction or tradeoff decisions are needed.
- Keep contributors aligned through project management tools, meeting notes, reminders, status updates, shared calendars, templates, and follow-through.
- Drive the MarCom team’s consistent use of project management systems, intake practices, workflows, templates, and reporting to improve accountability and project flow.
Possible Focus Areas
- Financial Development team requests for marketing and communication: Serve as the project coordination connector between this key partner team and MarCom specialty sub-teams (Marketing, Creative, Digital Experience, Media Relations), helping facilitate fundraising-related marketing and communication requests from intake through completion.

- Social media program coordination: Coordinate the organization-wide social media calendar and administrative project flow for the network of social media managers across the Y, including branch and program social media managers; support hands-on posting of approved content through the Y's social media platform as needed.
- MarCom operations and general communication support: Provide additional project management, process improvement, and general communication support to help make MarCom operations more effective and sustainable.
- All other duties as assigned.
