Sr. Manager, Media & Marketing Analytics

Its Plein Air Agency LLC

Is this job info correct?

Apply Description It's Plein Air Agency is a leading marketing consultancy focusing on the restaurant and hospitality industry, providing solutions from Creative, Production, Media Strategy & Buying, Digital Content to Website and Mobile App development. We are a fully remote agency and are looking for remote talent to join our team! Plein Air is looking for a senior, media-fluent analytics leader to join our growing Analytics team. This role sits at the center of how Plein Air measures and interprets media performance across our restaurant and hospitality client portfolio — partnering closely with our Media & Buying team to move beyond platform-reported metrics and build the incrementality, reach and frequency, and creative-performance narratives that inform how clients invest their media dollars. You'll own the media measurement point of view for a portfolio of clients, working hands-on and independently with the underlying data across disparate sources, help set the standard for how the team's most senior deliverables are built, and mentor the analysts contributing to that work. You'll partner directly with Plein Air's Head of Analytics to shape and scale media analytics practice across the agency, alongside close day-to-day collaboration with Creative, Media, Buying, and Brand. Key Responsibilities Media Measurement & Strategic Narrative Serve as the senior measurement lead for a portfolio of restaurant and hospitality clients, building the analytical case behind media investment decisions — channel mix, spend reallocation, tiered spend strategy. Own end-to-end media performance narratives, from raw platform, POS, and CRM data through a client-ready executive summary that states plainly what to keep, stop, and test next. Partner directly with the Head of Analytics to shape the media analytics point of view across the client portfolio and to help define how this work is standardized and scaled across the team. Creative & Cross-Channel Performance Diagnostics Analyze cross-channel reach, frequency, and deduplicated audience overlap across paid social, CTV, YouTube, and programmatic/DSP channels. Diagnose creative performance at the individual-asset level — format, length, concept, hook, and audience allocation — and translate findings into clear, specific direction on what's working and what isn't. Deliver that diagnosis directly back to the Creative team, asset by asset. This is not a one-time report handed off after the fact — you are expected to be a primary, ongoing voice driving iterative creative development across all assets, in direct partnership with Creative. Distinguish rigorously between platform-attributed and modeled outcomes (e.g., orders vs. modeled visits), and communicate the difference in evidentiary weight to clients and internal teams. Incrementality & Financial Impact Design and interpret incrementality tests and media experiments (holdout, geo, channel-level) to isolate the true effect of media spend on sales. Build the financial case for media decisions — cost per incremental result, spend-to-comp relationships, delivery vs. plan — for use in client budget conversations. Prior experience with Media Mix Modeling (MMM) is a plus, and you may be asked to work on or help develop an MMM capability as part of this work. Partner with clients' finance or operations counterparts to align media measurement with business KPIs such as same-store sales, average check, and traffic. Partnership with Creative, Media, Buying & Brand Partner directly with the Creative team on an ongoing basis, delivering asset-level diagnostic feedback — what's working, what isn't, and why — that directly informs what gets iterated, refreshed, or killed. Act as the analytical counterpart to the Media & Buying team, translating buyer-level platform data (Meta, Google, TikTok, CTV/DSP) into strategic, client-facing recommendations. Collaborate with Media Planners and Buyers on test design and reporting cadence, so measurement questions are built into campaigns from the start rather than added after the fact. Partner closely with Brand, the team owning the day-to-day client relationship, to ensure measurement findings and recommendations are aligned with the broader account narrative before they reach the client. Provide an independent, data-grounded point of view on platform-reported performance to help clients and internal teams separate real signal from noise. Team & Process Leadership Mentor and QA the output of analysts contributing to media measurement work; help set and maintain the team's standards for analytical rigor, narrative clarity, and presentation quality. Support the ongoing consolidation of media analytics capabilities within the Analytics team, including documentation of methodology and repeatable reporting frameworks. AI-Forward Analytics Use AI tools as a core part of your own workflow — for data exploration, SQL and code drafting, QA, and speeding up first drafts of client narrative — not as an occasional novelty. Help build and document how the team uses AI tools in day-to-day measurement work: sharing techniques, prompts, and workflows that make the broader team faster and more consistent, not just yourself. Apply healthy judgment to AI-generated output. You're expected to verify and take ownership of anything an AI tool helps produce before it reaches a client, not simply pass it along. Working with the Data Itself Get comfortable working directly in the underlying data as a regular part of the job. There are other data support resources and systems in place — you won't be starting from scratch — but this is a small, hands-on team, and you won't always have someone to hand a pull or a cleanup job off to. Pull, clean, and reconcile data across disparate sources — POS, CRM/loyalty, media platform exports, third-party delivery, warehouse tables like Snowflake or BigQuery — as needed to support your own analysis. Use SQL and spreadsheet-level work to keep multi-source reporting accurate, and flag data quality or definitional issues before they reach a client deliverable. What Success Looks Like Day one, you should be comfortable diagnosing delivery vs. plan, basic reach and frequency, and channel-level performance across the platforms above — and be able to hold your own in a conversation with a media buyer about what the platform data is and isn't telling you. Within your first 6–12 months, you'll grow into producing the team's flagship measurement narrative: the kind of quarterly business review that ties creative testing, tiered spend strategy, and incrementality together into a single, board-ready point of view for a client's leadership team. Why Join Us Work with some of the most innovative restaurant brands in the country. Be part of a collaborative team of strategists, analysts, and marketers who love data and food. Enjoy flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to influence real business outcomes across brands. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Analytics, Statistics, or a related field. 7+ years of progressive analytics experience, with meaningful time spent specifically on media and marketing measurement — not marketing analytics broadly. Agency, consulting, multi-client, or multi-brand experience strongly preferred. Restaurant, retail, or other multi-location marketing experience highly valued. Demonstrated experience analyzing paid media performance across Meta, Google/YouTube, TikTok, and CTV/programmatic. You don't need to have bought media, but you need to be fluent enough in these platforms to interrogate the data credibly with buyers. Strong grasp of reach/frequency, incrementality, and attribution concepts, and the judgment to know when platform-reported numbers should be trusted versus questioned. Experience with Media Mix Modeling (MMM) is a plus. Strong, hands-on SQL and data-wrangling skills. You won't be starting from scratch — there are other data resources and systems in place — but you should be comfortable pulling, joining, and reconciling disparate raw sources (POS, CRM, media exports, warehouse tables) yourself when needed, rather than routing everything through someone else. Proficiency in Excel and BigQuery, and comfort building and refining executive-level presentations. Real, hands-on experience using AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot-style assistants) in your actual analytical or writing workflow — and genuine interest in helping build out how the team uses these tools, not just passive familiarity. Exceptional storytelling and writing skills — the ability to take a genuinely complex dataset and state, in one sentence, what a client should do about it. Experience managing multiple client accounts and competing deadlines simultaneously; comfortable being a senior voice in the room with clients and internal stakeholders. The Keys to Being Good at This Job Curious. All ideas come from somewhere. If you're not feeding yourself with good inputs, the work will never be as good as it could have been. Super fun. We spend a lot of time working. Let's not make all that time suck. Self-motivated. We are small and growing, not big and bureaucratic. There will be plenty of times when you just need to figure things out. Ambition. We want people who think they can change the world. Writing skills. Part of your job is the communication of ideas, and that often takes a good writer.
