Equifax is where you can power your possible. If you want to achieve your true potential, chart new paths, develop new skills, collaborate with bright minds, and make a meaningful impact, we want to hear from you.
Synopsis of the role:
As the Platform Product Manager, you will be the product owner of Equifax India’s core data and decisioningplatforms. Your customers are both internal product teams (Retail, Commercial, Workforce Solutions) and external developer teams at top banks and FinTechs who consume our APIs. You will manage the lifecycle of our high-scale API gateways, tokenization registries, entity resolution (identity matching) algorithms, and orchestration engines. This role demands a deeply technical product leader who can bridge the gap between complex cloud architecture and commercial product usability, ensuring our platforms are scalable, reliable, and compliant.
What you’ll do
- Define and execute the roadmap for Equifax India's underlying data platform infrastructure. Modernize and scale the platform to handle multi-tenant cloud deployments, high-throughput batch loads, and sub-second real-time API performance.
- Standardize and manage Equifax India's API architecture, developer portals, and software development kits (SDKs). Ensure seamless, secure, and developer-friendly onboarding for external B2B clients.
- Prioritize platform architectural upgrades, security patching, and scalability.
- Define and track core platform KPIs such as API Uptime (SLAs), Latency (p99 metrics), and Match Rates.
- Partner closely with Enterprise Architects, Cloud Engineers, Infosec, Data Science, and Application Product
- Managers to ensure the underlying platform seamlessly supports new product launches.
- Embed data governance, access controls, data localization frameworks, and compliance policies (such as the DPDP Act and RBI guidelines) directly into the platform architecture by design.
- Maintain a continuous pulse on the global Equifax product portfolio.
- Proactively evaluate global platform capabilities and determine their feasibility for the Indian market.
- Translate global technology features into tangible business solutions for the Indian BFSI ecosystem.
- Partner with local business units to build business cases and pilot frameworks for imported global assets.
- Represent Equifax India in global platform governance councils. Articulate the region's technical requirements, market urgency, and regulatory mandates (such as the DPDP Act and RBI directives) to secure global engineering bandwidth and funding.
- Own the local sprint execution, API strategy and data orchestration frameworks.
- Ensure that local modifications gracefully co-exist with global core platform architecture without creating technical debt.
- Act as the single source of truth for global platform updates within Equifax India.
- Conduct regular enablement sessions for local product managers, sales engineers, and leadership to keep them aligned with upcoming global capabilities.
What experience you need
- 8+ years of professional experience, with at least 4+ years as a Platform/Technical Product Manager operating within a global cross-functional setup.
- Proven experience working across international time zones and collaborating with distributed engineering and product hubs (specifically US or European counterparts).
- Strong understanding of global cloud-native infrastructures (AWS or GCP), microservices architecture, enterprise API management, data lakehouse designs, and real-time event streaming.
- Demonstrated ability to take a global enterprise product or software capability and successfully modify, localize, and commercialize it for a distinct regional market.
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a highly quantitative discipline.
What could set you apart
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills. Proven ability to influence global engineering leaders and corporate executives to prioritize regional initiatives without having direct reporting authority over them.
- Ability to articulate complex, localized Indian financial market nuances (e.g., the Account Aggregator network, UPI volumes, localized bureau data formatting) into generalized technical concepts that global teams can easily grasp.
- Experience working with Scaled Agile Frameworks (SAFe) or managing complex dependencies across multiple global Jira backlogs and CI/CD deployment release cycles.
- Clear understanding of Indian data residency, localization mandates, and data privacy principles governed by the DPDP Act.
