Purpose of Role

The Sr, Manager Footwear Costing is responsible for maintaining current costing initiatives and supporting HQ and Asia costing leads to drive new and effective strategies to ensure UA is highly competitive in the marketplace. This role will drive communication with Asia UA and factory costing counterparts to effectively provide costing information with calendar timeline and partner with HQ development, Product Line Managers, Engineering, and Materials team for costing suggestions. This role cooperates with Finance, Merch Planning and Product Line Managers to set up long range plans, seasonal target margins, and ensure the POD follows the costing policy from product brief to final confirmation.

Your Impact

• Utilize manufacturing and product knowledge to achieve Footwear division target margin. Help impart this knowledge to cross-functional team members as well as direct reports.
• Lead team of 2-3 Teammates focused on specifc product categories
• Ensure that concerns and challenges around product costs are addressed to the leadership team throughout target margin setting to final cost approval.
• Provide, maintain, and lead footwear margin reviews at each calendar millstone to ensure alignment across functional team for target margin achievement
• Work collaboratively cross functionally with Product Line Manager, Development, Design, UA Sourcing/Costing, and Factory Asian counterparts through the product creation and development process to maximize costing opportunities.
• Increase awareness and understanding of the costing process within the organization through effective communication.
• Ensure costing standards, policies, and practices are followed accurately from start to finish while following established timelines and calendars.
• Embrace and support manufacturing excellence, concepts and successes across the Asia Footwear manufacturing platform.
• Create and maintain tooling tracking report at each of milestone Ensure follow up with leaders, development and product line manager for any impact over the division target margin/FOBs.
• Facilitate and monitor Cost action plans and verify achievement of cost targets
• Assist in the continuous improvement and maintenance of a global cost engineering process.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree
• 6-10 years of related industry experience in supply chain, sourcing, merchandising, accessories/apparel/footwear manufacturing
• Understanding of product creation (materials/color, design, development, sourcing, costing) processes and how they impact the supply chain
• Strong analytical skills
• Negotiation and creative problem-solving skills
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
• Proficiency in web-based PLM and data visualization systems such as Tableau, Centric, Trasix

Workplace Location

• Location: This individual must reside within commuting distance from our global headquarters in Baltimore, MD.
• Return To Work Designation: 4 days a week in-office (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday), work from home on Friday.

Base Compensation

$125,000.00-$165,000.00 USD

Most new hires fall within this range and have the opportunity to earn more over time. Initial placement within the salary range, however, is based on an individual's relevant knowledge, skills and experience for the position.
