EvenUp is on a mission to close the justice gap using technology and AI. We empower personal injury lawyers and victims to get the justice they deserve. Our products enable law firms to secure faster settlements, higher payouts, and better outcomes for victims injured through no fault of their own in vehicle collisions, accidents, natural disasters, and more.
We are one of the fastest-growing vertical SaaS companies in history, and we are just getting started. EvenUp is backed by top VCs, including Bessemer Venture Partners, Bain Capital Ventures, SignalFire, and Lightspeed. We are looking to expand our team with talented, driven, and collaborative individuals who seek to have a lasting impact. Learn more at www.evenuplaw.com.
As the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting at EvenUp, you will own the end-to-end revenue lifecycle, order-to-cash (O2C) operations, and technical revenue accounting under ASC 606. You will lead, mentor, and build out a high-performing revenue function, directly managing a Senior Accountant, Revenue and an Accounts Receivable (AR) Specialist.
This role is ideal for a strategic yet hands-on finance leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment, excels at automating order-to-cash workflows, and is passionate about setting high standards for accuracy, controls, and cross-functional collaboration.
What You'll Do
Order-to-Cash & Revenue Operations: Oversee end-to-end revenue accounting operations, billing systems, contract reviews, customer invoicing, collections, and cash application. Ensure seamless execution from deal closure to revenue recognition and cash collection.
Team Leadership & Development: Directly manage, mentor, and develop a Sr. Accountant, Revenue and an AR Specialist. Set operational priorities, review technical revenue schedules, balance sheet reconciliations, and AR aging performance to drive team success.
Technical Revenue Recognition (ASC 606): Serve as the subject matter expert for complex revenue arrangements, multi-element contracts, and software/SaaS revenue recognition rules under US GAAP (ASC 606 / ASC 340-40). Formulate sound revenue accounting memos and policies as new products and pricing models launch.
Process Automation & NetSuite ERP Optimization: Identify and execute process improvements across revenue billing engines, ERP systems (NetSuite), and close management software. Drive touchless automated billing, automated revenue schedules, and AI-assisted variance tracking.
Cross-Functional Business Partnership: Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Deal Desk, Customer Success, and Product teams to review non-standard contract terms, optimize pricing mechanics, and streamline billing/collections workflows.
Internal Controls & Audit Readiness: Maintain a robust internal control environment for order-to-cash and revenue processes. Act as the primary point of contact for external auditors on all revenue, deferred revenue, and accounts receivable audit schedules.
Key Success Metrics (KPIs)
Revenue Close & Reconciliation Timeliness: Reduce the revenue month-end close cycle to less than 4 business days while maintaining 100% compliance on deferred revenue, unbilled AR, and revenue account reconciliations in FloQast with zero un-reconciled variances.
Accounts Receivable & Cash Collection Efficiency: Lower DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) and maintain over 95% of the total AR portfolio within current/30-day terms through proactive collection workflows and team oversight.
Billing & Revenue Automation Rate: Target an automation rate of >80% for recurring invoice generation, payment processing, and revenue schedule postings via NetSuite and integrated billing software.
Revenue Fluctuation & Variance Analysis: Achieve 90% automated flagging and analysis of material revenue/deferred revenue fluctuations (>10% and/or >$50,000 MoM/YoY) prior to sign-off.
Key Milestones
First 90 to 180 Days:
Onboard and assess current revenue workflows, drive the NetSuite ARM and billing system implementation alongside the Sr. Accountant, Revenue and AR Specialist.
Review NetSuite revenue recognition configurations (ASC 606) and streamline immediate O2C billing and collection bottlenecks.
Implement clear SLAs, documentation templates, and daily/weekly KPIs for direct reports covering invoice accuracy, AR aging, and deferred revenue reconciliations.
First 12 Months:
Fully optimize automated revenue schedules using ARM in NetSuite and billing workflows to accelerate the revenue month-end close cycle.
Establish formal technical revenue policies and contract review matrices for new product features, AI capabilities, and contract structures.
Successfully lead the revenue, AR, and deferred revenue portions of the annual financial audit with zero material audit adjustments.
What We Look For
Experience: 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 4+ years specializing in technical revenue recognition (ASC 606), order-to-cash operations, and revenue close processes within SaaS or tech companies.
People Management: 2+ years of direct people management experience with a proven track record of mentoring and scaling revenue and AR professionals.
Technical Expertise: Deep knowledge of US GAAP (ASC 606 and ASC 340-40), complex contract evaluations, and revenue audit requirements.
Education & Credentials: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA designation required (active or inactive).
Systems & Tools: Hands-on experience with NetSuite ERP (specifically NetSuite ARM or other revenue modules), billing engines, CRM platforms (Salesforce), and close management software.
Execution & Communication: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex accounting concepts to non-finance partners (Sales, Product, Legal) and maintain meticulous attention to detail in a high-growth setting.
Benefits & Perks:
As part of our total rewards package, we offer attractive benefits and perks to our employees, including:
