Summary

The Sr. Manager, SPD Solutions is a leadership role for an experienced Sterile Processing Department (SPD) leader who brings hands-on experience running SPD operations and/or supporting the OR, and who knows firsthand what it takes to run a high-functioning department. This individual will also have consulting experience specific to the SPD and will oversee the successful implementation of surgical instrument management solutions across Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs) and hospitals, directly managing a team of SPD Solutions Specialists and Technicians. The ideal candidate has experience leading SPD departments and people, understands the operational and clinical realities of sterile processing and OR workflows, and has a proven ability to take inconsistent, ad hoc processes and turn them into streamlined, repeatable, and actionable playbooks that scale across multiple projects and sites simultaneously. This role requires regular travel to customer sites and a willingness to be hands-on in the field with teams and hospital partners.

In This Position, You Will Have the Opportunity To

• Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of SPD Solutions Specialists and Technicians, drawing on your own experience running SPD departments to provide credible, real-world direction, performance feedback, and development.
• Bring order and consistency to how Aspen implements IDN and hospital-level contracts — leaning up existing processes, eliminating inefficiencies, and building standardized, scalable playbooks that can be applied across multiple simultaneous projects.
• Plan, coordinate, and oversee the implementation of IDN and hospital-level contracts, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with customer objectives.
• Serve as the primary liaison between Aspen Surgical and customer stakeholders — including SPD and OR leadership — leveraging firsthand departmental experience to build immediate credibility and trust.
• Collaborate with Regional Directors, Account Executives, and Account Managers to execute strategic initiatives.
• Review and validate cross-referenced surgical instrumentation data to support conversions to Aspen products, ensuring accuracy and clinical compatibility.
• Leverage hospital instrument tracking systems to obtain customer data and identify standardization and cost-savings opportunities.
• Track and report on project milestones, purchasing compliance, and team performance metrics using Salesforce and other analytics tools.
• Develop, document, and continuously refine standardized processes and best practices for surgical instrument organization and inventory solutions, ensuring they hold up across multiple concurrent hospital and IDN engagements.
• Lead regular team and stakeholder meetings to monitor project progress, resolve issues, and share insights.
• Ensure all direct reports meet hospital credentialing requirements and maintain professionalism in customer-facing, clinical environments.
• Travel regularly to customer sites to support team members, troubleshoot in person, and reinforce process standards on the ground.

Support cross-functional collaboration with Sales Operations, Clinical, Supply Chain, and Distribution Center teams.

What You Need to Succeed in This Position

• 7+ years of progressive experience in Sterile Processing (SPD) and/or OR operations, including significant time leading an SPD department or a comparable central processing function.
• Demonstrated experience leading and developing people — you've built, managed, and grown teams, not just projects.
• Deep, working knowledge of SPD and/or OR workflows, instrumentation handling, and the operational pressures of a hospital sterile processing environment.
• A track record of taking inconsistent or informal processes and making them lean, standardized, and repeatable across multiple sites or projects at once.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred; significant relevant SPD/OR leadership experience will be given equal weight in lieu of a degree.
• Prior experience with consulting engagements, IDN conversions and contract implementations strongly preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Salesforce, and relevant ERP/data systems.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and project/process management skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the credibility to engage SPD and OR leadership as a peer.
• Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and a genuine passion for process improvement.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% (or more, as needed) to support team members and customer sites.
