Role Summary
The Warehousing and Logistics Manager Central America is responsible for directing and optimizing the end-to-end warehousing, freight, customs, and intercompany logistics network across Central America (Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama). Reporting directly to the CS&L Regional Director and collaborating closely with the Global Logistics Manager, this position oversees both company-owned facilities and third-party logistics (3PL) operations—including finished goods, bonded warehouses, reconditioning, co-packing, and cross-docks. The role is accountable for delivering best-in-class customer service, enforcing corporate EOHS, Quality, and SOX standards, managing substantial OpEx/CapEx logistics budgets, and driving multi-country Funding the Growth (FTG) savings initiatives while developing top-tier organizational talent.
Key Responsibilities
-
Regional Network Operations & Service Delivery: Lead operations across all Central America warehouse facilities (owned and 3PL sites, bonded warehouses, export hubs, and cross-docks), ensuring accurate order fulfillment, inventory integrity, timely receipts, and efficient shipping to achieve regional customer service benchmarks.
-
Logistics Budgeting, OpEx/CapEx & FTG Delivery: Own and control the regional warehousing, transportation, and capital expenditure budgets; design cost-control mechanisms and lead network optimization projects to achieve corporate Funding the Growth (FTG) savings commitments.
-
3PL, Carrier & Customs Governance: Partner with Logistics Indirect Procurement to direct Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contract negotiations, and SLA monitoring for 3PL providers, freight carriers, customs brokers, and risk-management partners across Central America.
-
Intercompany & Cross-Border Logistics Execution: Direct all import, export, and intercompany freight movements within and beyond Central America, coordinating with Manufacturing, CBS, and supply planning to ensure seamless inventory deployment and mitigate slow-moving/obsolete stock (SLOB).
-
Corporate Governance, SOX, Quality & EOHS: Enforce strict compliance across all regional nodes with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, internal audits, local/international regulatory requirements, and Global Quality and Environmental Occupational Health and Safety (EOHS) standards.
-
Digital Transformation & People Leadership: Spearhead warehouse technology adoption (WMS, SAP, TM9, EDI, and AI productivity tools) while leading and developing cross-functional teams (logistics leaders, operations analysts, technical staff) in alignment with company leadership principles.
Required Qualifications
-
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
-
Experience: 10+ years in Logistics, Warehousing, or Supply Chain operations, including at least 2 years of direct people management.
-
Financial & Logistics Management: Proven experience managing multi-site warehousing/transportation budgets (OpEx/CapEx), 3PL providers, and Central America cross-border/customs logistics.
-
Systems & Platforms: Solid hands-on proficiency with SAP (ERP/TM9), WMS (Warehouse Management Systems), and standard office suites (Google Workspace / Microsoft).
-
Digital Tools: Practical knowledge or active application of AI tools in operational workflows.
-
Languages: Advanced English proficiency (verbal and written).
Desired Qualifications
-
Advanced Degree: Master studies are desirable.
-
Talent Development: Proven capabilities in coaching, organizational design, and mentoring high-performing teams under modern leadership frameworks.
-
Cross-Functional & Customer Focus: Strong stakeholder influence across Commercial Development (CDT), Manufacturing Plant Directors, and regional executive leadership.
