Job Description: Job Overview The Senior Manager will lead the global Product Development Engineering (PDE) organization responsible for current and next-generation high-speed bulk cable technologies. The role has dual responsibility for leading internal bulk cable product development and driving co-design development with strategic suppliers and external technology partners. This leader will build strong internal engineering capability while leveraging partner expertise to accelerate innovation and deliver differentiated, manufacturable, cost-competitive cable solutions. The position provides technical and organizational leadership across product design, signal integrity, materials, mechanical design, process development, testing, qualification, and manufacturing readiness, while aligning technology roadmaps with business, market, and customer needs. Job Requirements Internal Product Development Engineering Leadership • Lead the internal Bulk Cable Product Development Engineering team, with ownership from concept and feasibility through design, validation, qualification, industrialization, and production release. • Build strong internal technical capability across product design, signal integrity, materials, mechanical design, testing, and process development while driving disciplined engineering execution and a First-Time-Right culture. • Foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and seamless product transfers between APAC and North American teams, partnering with regional leaders to ensure alignment. Supplier & Strategic Partner Co-Development • Lead co-design and co-development of high-speed bulk cable technologies with strategic suppliers and external partners, establishing clear technical requirements, ownership, milestones, validation expectations, and development deliverables. • Leverage supplier and partner expertise in materials, manufacturing, process technology, and innovation to accelerate development while maintaining critical technical knowledge and product ownership internally. Technology & Product Roadmap • Develop and maintain a forward-looking bulk cable technology and product roadmap aligned with market trends, customer needs, system requirements, and next-generation high-speed interconnect objectives. • Identify technology gaps and determine the appropriate development approach through internal development, supplier co-development, strategic partnerships, or a combination of these models. Product Development & Execution • Provide technical leadership across bulk cable development programs to ensure performance, quality, cost, schedule, manufacturability, and customer requirements are achieved. • Drive engineering reviews, risk mitigation, validation, qualification, and seamless transition from prototype and low-volume development into high-volume manufacturing. Cost, Quality & Manufacturing Excellence • Drive Design for Manufacturability (DFM), Design for Quality (DFQ), and Design for Cost (DFC) throughout the development process to improve robustness, scalability, and cost competitiveness. • Partner with operations, manufacturing engineering, quality, procurement, and suppliers to improve process capability, yield, automation, material utilization, and production readiness. Team & Organizational Leadership • Build, develop, and lead a high-performing global engineering team with clear roles, technical ownership, accountability, and capability development across key bulk cable disciplines. • Coach and develop engineers and technical leaders, strengthen succession and talent pipelines, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and technical excellence. Cross-Functional & Customer Leadership • Collaborate across Product Management, Systems Engineering, Signal Integrity, Manufacturing, Quality, Operations, Procurement, and other SBTs to align technical priorities and development execution. • Serve as a senior technical interface with customers, suppliers, and strategic partners during technology reviews, development discussions, manufacturing reviews, plant audits, and roadmap planning. What your background should look like • Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering or related technical field. • 10+ years of product development engineering experience. • 5+ years of engineering or R&D leadership experience. • Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams. • Experience leading product development from concept through qualification and production launch. • Strong problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional leadership skills. • Experience working with suppliers, strategic partners, and global teams. • Strong customer focus and technical decision-making capability. Preferred • Direct experience in high-speed bulk cable development and manufacturing, particularly Twinax cable technologies. • Experience with Twinax cable design, materials, extrusion, shielding, cabling, process development, testing, and high-volume manufacturing. • Experience with high-speed interconnects, cable assemblies, connectors, and signal integrity is a plus. • Experience transferring new cable technologies from development into production. • Experience with DOE, Six Sigma, Kaizen, or Lean development methodologies. • Experience leading global engineering teams and strategic supplier co-development programs.
