About the Role:

We are pioneering an AI-first development culture. Every aspect of our product development lifecycle is infused with AI adoption - from ideation and design to coding, testing and deployment. Our mission is to lead the industry in AI-powered mobile innovation.

Quality assurance is a critical leverage point for AI-driven productivity in mobile engineering. In this role, you will help transform QA into a strategic, AI-enabled function that drives both velocity and quality across the mobile engineering organization.

As a Senior Principal SQA Engineer, Mobile, you will be a key technical leader driving this transformation across our mobile engineering organization. You will define and evolve our mobile quality engineering strategy, champion AI-powered testing practices, and build scalable automation capabilities that improve engineering productivity and product quality.

You'll join our Mobile Development organization, building secure, highly scalable applications that protect the digital lives of millions of users worldwide. This is a hands-on technical leadership role where you'll combine deep mobile testing expertise, architectural thinking and engineering influence to raise the quality bar across our Android and iOS portfolio.

In this role, you will:

• Define and drive the mobile quality engineering strategy across Android and iOS, establishing technical standards, automation architecture and best practices across the organization.

• Champion AI-first testing practices, using tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor and generative AI frameworks to accelerate test development, generate test scenarios, optimize coverage, analyze failures and improve defect detection.

• Lead the evolution of mobile test automation frameworks using technologies such as Appium, Espresso, and XCUITest, ensuring scalable, reliable and maintainable automation solutions.

• Drive the integration of intelligent test automation into CI/CD pipelines, enabling faster feedback cycles, continuous quality validation and confident releases.

• Establish comprehensive testing strategies covering functional, integration, API, performance, reliability and security aspects of mobile applications.

• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mobile QA automation engineers, fostering engineering excellence, technical growth and a culture of continuous learning.

• Stay hands-on by designing automation architecture, writing test code, reviewing implementations and solving complex technical challenges.

• Partner closely with engineering, product, design and DevOps leaders to embed quality throughout the development lifecycle and promote shared ownership of product quality.

• Define and drive meaningful quality metrics, including automation effectiveness, test reliability, defect escape rates and release readiness, using data to guide continuous improvement.

• Influence engineering strategy and remove organizational and technical barriers that impact quality, delivery velocity and engineering productivity.

About You:

• You are a strong technical leader who can influence engineering organizations, develop talent, communicate effectively and build trust across teams.

• You have an AI-native mindset and practical experience leveraging AI tools to transform software testing, automation and quality engineering practices.

• You bring deep technical expertise in mobile test automation across Android and iOS, including mobile application architecture, device fragmentation, OS-specific challenges and complex integration scenarios.

• You have extensive experience designing, building and evolving mobile test automation frameworks using technologies such as Appium, Espresso and XCUITest.

• You have strong programming skills in Kotlin or Java. Experience with Python, Swift or similar programming languages is a plus.

• You have experience integrating test automation into modern CI/CD pipelines and building scalable, reliable and maintainable test infrastructure.

• You understand modern quality engineering practices, including shift-left testing, risk-based testing, API testing, performance testing and production quality monitoring.

• You are a hands-on technical leader who enjoys solving complex engineering problems, writing automation code, conducting technical reviews and mentoring other engineers.

• You have 10+ years of experience in test automation with demonstrated senior or principal-level technical leadership and organizational impact scope, and a track record of delivering high-quality, consumer-facing software at scale.

• You thrive in cross-functional collaboration, building strong partnership with engineering, product, design, and DevOps teams.

• You are curious, adaptable, and committed to continuously learning, particularly in AI technologies, mobile engineering and emerging quality engineering practices.
