Sr Product Engineer (Python & React)

We're looking for a Senior Product Engineer (Backend-Focused) to join a U.S.-based B2B SaaS product team.

This is a hands-on engineering role with a strong focus on Python backend development, data modeling, and scalable application architecture, while also contributing to frontend development using React and TypeScript.

You'll work closely with Product Management and other engineers to improve an established platform, build customer-facing features, and make technical decisions that support long-term product growth.

What You'll Do

• Design, maintain, and evolve complex data models to support scalable product features.
• Develop and enhance backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
• Improve database performance, data integrity, and application scalability.
• Lead database schema changes, migrations, and data optimization initiatives.
• Build and maintain integrations with external systems and APIs.
• Collaborate with Product Managers to design and deliver customer-facing features.
• Contribute to frontend development using React and TypeScript.
• Evaluate existing architecture and recommend improvements based on business and technical needs.
• Collaborate with DevOps engineers on AWS-based infrastructure and deployments.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and mentoring.

Must Have

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Strong production experience with Python (FastAPI, Flask, or Django).
• Proven expertise in data modeling, database design, schema evolution, and migrations.
• Strong experience with PostgreSQL and/or MongoDB, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience developing customer-facing products in B2B SaaS environments.
• Working knowledge of React and TypeScript, with the ability to build and review frontend features.
• Hands-on experience with AWS.
• Experience designing and maintaining REST APIs and third-party integrations.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or GitHub Copilot.
• Strong technical ownership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Advanced English proficiency, both written and spoken.

Nice to Have

• Experience with complex hierarchical or graph-based data structures.
• Experience with large-scale database migrations.
• Familiarity with Kubernetes/EKS.
• Experience with role-based permissions and access control.
• Exposure to LLM-powered or AI-driven product features.
