As a Senior Product Manager at EMPLOYERS, you are a strategic, hands-on product leader, driving the next-generation digital strategies, products, and services that enable best-in-class experiences for our customers and workforce. You will work with the business operational leaders, customer experience, design, business architecture, product development, engineering, and analytics teams to deliver industry leading transformation.
You will lead by championing the voice of the customer and fostering a user-centric development approach to ensure products meet the evolving needs of our customers, agents, injured workers, and healthcare providers. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will oversee the development process from concept to implementation., ensuring our products exceed expectations and making it intuitive and easy to manage insurance products from EMPLOYERS. You are expected to be a catalyst for change, building a culture of shared outcomes where we exceed the goals of the organization. About EMPLOYERS
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for understanding and communicating the needs and preferences of a target personas. This involves gathering and analyzing customer feedback through channels such as surveys, focus groups, engagement and analytics data, interviews, and usability testing.
- Responsible for setting OKRs for a product and validating business cases prior to significant investment.
- Collaborate in the product design process to understand and prioritize customer needs, wants, and expectations by analyzing user data and feedback to improve the overall product experience.
- Understand and contribute to the overall strategy of the company and align the product roadmap with that strategy.
- Develop a clear and compelling product vision and create a roadmap that supports this vision. This involves gathering, analyzing, and synthesizing a combination of customer needs, corporate goals, market trends, and various sets of data to prioritize key features and milestones to deliver the vision.
- Manage cross-functional team members including engineering, product design, marketing, and operations, to ensure the product is delivered on time with high quality.
- Drive go-to-market strategy, successfully bringing products to launch, monitoring OKRs, and ongoing maintenance.
- Identify potential risks and opportunities and make recommendations based on data insights to meet the intended customer needs.
- Proactively seek new data sets and interpret data to make informed decisions about the product.
- Stay current on customer trends and preferences to inform product strategy and roadmap.
- Lead and manage a cross-functional team throughout the product development lifecycle, maintaining a high-performing team by setting clear goals and fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture.
- Identify, prioritize, and effectively engage with all the key stakeholders involved in the product development process, including customers, internal teams, external partners, and other stakeholders.
- Understand the needs and perspectives of each stakeholder group and effectively communicate the product vision and strategy in a way that is tailored to their specific needs and interests.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders, establish trust, and effectively manage expectations.
- Lead the definition and documentation of product features, epics, stories and UAT criteria.
- Produce and manage product roadmaps and backlogs, release planning and forecasting, and success metrics. Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and stakeholder sign-off.
- Assist in coordination and contribute to User Acceptance Testing (UAT) across internal teams and vendors before production deployment.
- Create training materials and self-service guidance for end users and stakeholders.
- Create documentation of current and ideal state processes and workflows.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements - Background and Experience/Expertise
- 5+ years of experience in digital product management of product suites used by internal and external customers.
- 5+ years of experience in Agile and scrum processes and product development.
- Knowledge of internal company systems preferred.
- Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to extensively analyze business processes and workflows.
- Experience developing product vision, goals, objectives, and business requirements.
- Experience in digital transformation and leading market analysis.
- Knowledge of user-centered design, design thinking, and UX/UI practices.
- Excellent business/client engagement skills.
- Experience facilitating workshops and focus groups.
- Experience developing instructional and procedural documentation and presentations.
- High level of competence with MS Office, Atlassian suite, JIRA, and Lucid charts.
Certification
- Certification as a scrum master and/or product owner preferred.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in product management, business, design, computer science, or related field or equivalent work experience.
Work Environment
- Remote: This role is 100% remote, open to candidates currently located in the United States who are able to work without sponsorship.
- Requires a private, quiet workspace suitable for focused work and video collaboration.
- Hours: Schedules are set to accommodate the needs of the role and organization, and may be adjusted as needed.
- Travel: Occasional travel to off-site locations for meetings may be required.
