The Senior Product Manager is an experienced individual contributor who owns a product area within Veradigm's clinical product portfolio. Reporting to the Director of Product Management, you will shape direction for your area, run discovery, and make sure your roadmap aligns with business objectives and healthcare regulatory requirements including ONC certification, HIPAA, the Cures Act, and HTI-1. This role has no direct reports. You will lead through influence and contribute to strong product practice across the team.
You will drive cross-functional alignment across Engineering, Design, Sales, Marketing, and Client Services. Clinical workflows cut across the platform, so success depends on working effectively across organizational and product boundaries. In some cases you will build new capabilities with a dedicated engineering team. In other cases you will define requirements and influence roadmaps owned by other product teams across Veradigm. Either way, you are accountable for outcomes, not just output.
We operate under an empowered product team model rooted in SVPG principles. Product managers own the problems, not just the features. Teams are cross-functional and empowered to find the best solutions, and success is measured by business and customer outcomes. This role carries real ownership and requires someone who thrives in that kind of environment.
This a hybrid based position, expectation of 2 days a week onsite
Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Execution
- Define product strategy and roadmap for your product area in partnership with your Director, aligned to business objectives and clinical and regulatory requirements.
- Define and track OKRs for your product area. Own measurable outcomes.
- Own trade-off decisions that balance new capability, technical health, compliance work, and customer-reported issues.
- Work hands-on across the full product lifecycle, from discovery and requirements through launch and iteration.
- Present your roadmap and results to product leadership and key stakeholders.
Product Discovery & Customer Insight
- Plan and run structured discovery including customer interviews, site visits, and usage analysis to validate problems before committing engineering resources.
- Apply SVPG principles in practice: assess value, usability, feasibility, and viability before committing to build.
- Maintain a deep working understanding of your customers, including independent practices, health systems, and the clinical and administrative staff who use the product daily.
- Synthesize competitive and market insight into direction your team can act on.
Domain & Technical Depth
- Maintain working knowledge of clinical workflows including charting, ordering, e-prescribing, scheduling, and clinical decision support.
- Partner with engineering on technical feasibility conversations. Understand EHR architecture, HL7 and FHIR standards, and healthcare data exchange.
- Use analytics tools such as Snowflake, Mixpanel, Power BI, and Gainsight directly to analyze product performance and inform product decisions.
- Hold a high bar for usability, reliability, performance, and security across your products.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Enablement
- Build trusted working relationships with engineering, design, compliance, and customer success partners.
- Partner with Marketing, Sales, and Support on release readiness so the field is equipped to position and support what you ship.
- Support key accounts with product input, including customer-facing conversations.
- Identify and clear obstacles to execution, and escalate resourcing, prioritization, or stakeholder conflicts when needed.
Compliance & Regulatory Awareness
- Ensure your products meet applicable regulatory and compliance standards, including HIPAA, ONC certification, information blocking and interoperability requirements, and Veradigm's internal quality standards.
- Track upcoming regulatory changes, including HTI-1 and Cures Act requirements, and build them into roadmap planning early enough to reduce client risk.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Healthcare, or a related field or equivalent experience
- 4-7 years of relevant work experience, including at least 3 years in product management, with a track record of owning features or a product area end to end
- Experience running product discovery and making evidence-based prioritization decisions
- Hands-on use of AI tools in day to day product work, such as research synthesis, prototyping, competitive analysis, and data exploration, and a willingness to share what works with others
- Technical background sufficient to discuss feasibility and architecture trade-offs with engineering
- Experience in an Agile environment
- Familiarity with SVPG or a comparable empowered product team model
Preferred
- Experience leading cross-team initiatives without formal authority
- Clinical software experience such as EHR, clinical documentation, or clinical decision support systems
- Familiarity with clinical AI applications such as ambient documentation, coding assistance, or predictive decision support, including the HTI-1 decision support intervention transparency requirements
- Proficiency with analytics platforms
- Understanding of ONC certification, HIPAA, MACRA/MIPS, and value-based care models
- Experience with FHIR, HL7, or CCD/CDA interoperability standards
