About the Role

The Senior Product Manager leads regulatory engagement and end-to-end insurance model filing activities, building strong relationships with Departments of Insurance and coordinating with Product Management, Analytics, Legal, Compliance, carriers, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate, consistent, and defensible filings, governance records, market conduct responses, and product documentation. The role requires deep property and casualty insurance expertise, including insurance decisioning data, credit-based insurance scoring, model development, SERFF workflows, and state-specific regulatory requirements, along with strong analytical, communication, training, and cross-functional leadership skills.

This role will be hybrid from our US headquarters in Alpharetta, GA (3x weekly)

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage relationships with Departments of Insurance (DOIs), including coordinating the socialization of new models and products in close partnership with product management and Analytics model owners.
  • Attend NAIC meetings and other conferences with a strong regulator presence to strengthen relationships with insurance regulators.
  • Build and maintain relationships with DOI personnel who regularly review company models during the filing process.
  • Manage carrier support for market conduct exam responses and documentation, including responses involving Life models; partner closely with Legal and Compliance, particularly in strategic states where models receive heightened scrutiny.
  • Lead the model filing process and related support, ensuring filing materials are consistent, complete, accurate, and submitted appropriately; serve as a consultant and peer reviewer for Analytics and product management team members involved in filing activity.
  • Oversee end-to-end model filing execution, including SERFF submission strategy, filing package readiness, objection and response management, and coordination with product managers, Analytics, Legal, Compliance, carriers, and DOI stakeholders.
  • Serve as the Product Management representative on the internal data and model governance committee, monitoring model governance, data usage, credit-based insurance scoring considerations, and emerging DOI expectations to support defensible filing positions.
  • Maintain internal and external consistency across model documentation, DOI communications, carrier-facing materials, product positioning, and governance records so filings, socialization efforts, and market conduct responses align clearly and accurately.
  • Bring strong working knowledge of insurance decisioning data, credit-based insurance scoring, model development concepts, DOI filing practices, and SERFF workflows; prior carrier experience is preferred.
  • Review all new and proposed models for state-specific issues and requirements, including vertical-level models and carrier custom models; develop supportable responses when DOI reviewers identify potentially problematic attributes and, when necessary, recommend state scorecard modifications to modeling teams.
  • Train internal product managers on filing best practices and introduce them to our primary DOI contacts.
  • Provide product expertise on exclusion criteria and reason codes/model indicators for all models, including the use of existing codes and the need for new codes, as appropriate.
  • Consumer disclosure support, including peer review of Product Management responses and development of scripts for specific score and reason code responses.
  • Manage content within the AI Filings Navigator, a tool used by Product Management and Analytics as a source for filing trends, DOI filing documentation, objections received, and LexisNexis responses; support AI-native search capabilities that help teams understand state filing requirements and access standard responses from a library of DOI filing questions.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of insurance model filing processes, SERFF submissions, Department of Insurance (DOI) requirements, and state regulatory review practices.
  • Experience building and managing relationships with insurance regulators, carriers, Legal, Compliance, and cross-functional business partners.
  • Demonstrated expertise in insurance decisioning data, predictive modeling concepts, credit-based insurance scoring, model documentation, and governance frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead complex regulatory filings, manage objections and responses, and support market conduct exams and regulatory inquiries.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to train teams, develop regulatory guidance, and present complex model concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Deep expertise in SERFF processes and best practices, with proven experience managing complex multi-state insurance model filings and regulatory responses
  • Insurance carrier experience and completed actuarial exams are preferred
  • Suggested Minimum Years of PM Experience: 10+
  • Education to Qualify: Bachelors or Masters degree
  • Utilizes or extend the company's platform and underlying technologies to create new product features.
  • Speaks knowledgably with tech and data counterparts about development approaches in consideration.
  • Ability to travel 25–30%
