Sr Purchasing Agent

The Senior Purchasing Agent oversees the procurement of materials, supplies, and services, focusing on high-value and strategic sourcing initiatives. This role involves leading complex negotiations, managing key supplier relationships, and driving continuous improvement in procurement processes.

The Mission Solutions and Technologies (MST) business area provides affordable, turn-key command/control, communications, integrated ISR, force protection and security solutions worldwide. The MST team has a long legacy of supporting the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, commercial and international customers with years of experience in platform operations, engineering and full lifecycle management across domains – air, land, sea, space and cyber.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the procurement of high-value and strategic materials, supplies, and services.

• Lead complex supplier negotiations and contract management.

• Manage key supplier relationships to ensure quality and timely delivery.

• Develop and execute strategic sourcing initiatives.

• Monitor and analyze procurement performance metrics.

• Resolve high-level supply chain issues and disputes.

• Collaborate with senior management and cross-functional teams on procurement strategies.

• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and federal regulations.

• Provide mentorship and guidance to junior procurement staff.

• Stay updated on market trends and industry best practices.

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

• 6+ years of experience in a related role.

• Relevant experience can be considered as a substitute for the required educational qualifications. In the absence of a degree, a minimum of 10 years of related experience is required.

• Higher level relevant degree may substitute for experience.

• Expert proficiency in procurement processes and principles.

• Procurement experience.

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Certification in procurement or supply chain management [e.g., Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM)].

• Significant experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.

• Advanced expertise in procurement software and tools.

• Experience with major Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Procure-to-Pay (P2P)/Source-to-Pay (S2P) systems.

Essential Functions:

• Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer.

• Hand and finger dexterity for data entry and document review.

• Ability to travel occasionally for supplier visits.

• Ability to work in an office or hybrid environment.

• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $98,633.53 - $135,621.11. Compensation varies depending on a wide array of factors, such as candidates' key skills, relevant work experience, and education/training/certifications. The disclosed range estimate may be adjusted for any applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.

SNC offers annual incentive pay based upon performance that is commensurate with the level of the position.
