Job Overview
We're looking for a quality advocate who takes a holistic approach to testing, proactively identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and product quality through close collaboration with Product, Engineering, and Design teams from the earliest stages of development.
You will serve as the primary technical point of contact for our offshore QA team, helping establish quality standards, review test strategies and plans, and drive continuous improvements.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building scalable solutions from the ground up, influencing how quality is embedded throughout the development process, and partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable experiences at scale through a shared commitment to quality.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build a comprehensive testing strategy that balances manual oversight of offshore teams with the development of scalable automation.
- Develop and maintain automated test suites XCUITest/Espresso for mobile apps.
- Partner early with Product, Design, and Engineering to identify potential issues during the requirements and design phases.
- Serve as the primary technical point of contact for our offshore QA team, providing technical guidance, reviewing test plans, and driving high-quality execution.
- Identify bottlenecks in the development lifecycle and implement process improvements to increase release velocity without compromising quality.
- Work within an Agile environment to provide clear, actionable feedback and bug reports, while actively participating in code reviews and sprint planning.
- Partner with engineering teams to integrate automated testing into CI/CD workflows, helping ensure fast, reliable, and scalable releases.
Qualifications
- Experience in software quality engineering, with at least 2 years in a Senior capacity.
- Experience developing, maintaining, and enhancing automated test frameworks for native mobile applications using XCUITest (iOS) and/or Espresso (Android).
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language, such as Swift or Kotlin.
- Experience testing mobile applications across different devices and environments, with an understanding of common mobile quality considerations.
- Experience with exploratory testing, regression testing, and test case management.
- Experience with API testing and strong backend literacy, including the use of tools such as Postman and Charles Proxy.
- Experience integrating automated testing into CI/CD pipelines and deployment workflows.
- Ability to contribute to automation design decisions and develop maintainable solutions that can be effectively supported by both engineering and distributed QA teams.
- Experience collaborating and communicating with cross-functional teams.
Nice to have
- Previous experience testing mobile or web-based games, including familiarity with multi-player games and UI/UX consistency.
- Experience with cloud-based testing platforms like BrowserStack or Sauce Labs.
- Interest in the evolving AI landscape, with a willingness to explore, pilot, and implement AI-assisted tools that enhance development and testing processes.
- A growth-oriented mindset, with a passion for continuous learning, sharing knowledge, and helping teams improve quality practices.
- Experience documenting best practices, sharing knowledge, and mentoring team members to improve overall quality practices
