Role Overview
Join Aon in a highly consultative role supporting clients and prospects across our Real Estate & Hospitality practice. You will provide outsourced risk management and insurance advisory services, helping complex organizations understand their exposures, strengthen risk-management practices and make informed business and insurance decisions.
This is not a broking or account-management position. The role focuses on business risk consulting, risk analysis and risk assessments, translating complex insurance and operational risks into practical recommendations and solutions.
You will collaborate closely with the National Real Estate & Hospitality Leader and colleagues across Aon to support client engagements and practice-wide initiatives.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a trusted consultant to real estate and hospitality clients, providing strategic risk management and business risk consulting across insurance, operational risk, risk financing and related business challenges.
- Conduct comprehensive risk assessments and risk analysis, using established auditing procedures to evaluate exposures, controls and insurance programs and recommend practical risk-mitigation strategies.
- Review contracts, lender requirements, property-management agreements and insurance policies to identify risk-management and regulatory compliance considerations. Evaluate property risk-control practices, including physical access controls where relevant.
- Advise clients on claims management, loss prevention, captive insurance and alternative risk solutions, including parametric insurance and structured risk solutions. Assess existing practices and support business process design improvements that strengthen efficiency and risk mitigation.
- Translate complex findings into clear, executive-ready reports and actionable recommendations, maintaining accurate client records, risk assessments and deliverables through effective report writing and document management.
- Lead multiple client engagements and practice initiatives using effective project management, balancing priorities, milestones and deliverables while working closely with the National Real Estate & Hospitality Leader and colleagues across Aon.
- Build trusted client relationships through strong customer relationship management (CRM) and clienteling practices, understanding evolving business needs and connecting clients with the right capabilities across Aon, including AGRC.
Skills and Experience That Will Lead to Success
- Extensive risk management and insurance experience supporting complex commercial real estate operations, with a strong understanding of industry risks, mitigation techniques and Property and Casualty insurance.
- Experience developing risk-mitigation strategies across claims management, property risk control and loss prevention, with knowledge of captive insurance, parametric insurance and other alternative risk solutions.
- Strong consulting and analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information, ask insightful questions and communicate practical recommendations to clients and senior stakeholders.
- Experience managing multiple client relationships, projects and priorities while building collaborative relationships with clients and internal partners.
- Strong written communication skills, including experience preparing client-facing or executive-level risk reports and interpreting contracts, lender requirements, property-management agreements and insurance policies.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree preferred; a professional qualification or designation in insurance or risk management is also desirable.
- 10+ years of relevant experience in commercial real estate risk management, insurance, brokerage, corporate risk management or a closely related environment.
- Strong technical insurance background, including experience working within or closely with a corporate Risk Management function.
