About Eightfold
Eightfold is a global leader in AI-native enterprise talent platforms, trusted by many of the world’s largest Fortune 500 organizations. Our platform is built from the ground up to operate at scale across Azure and AWS, deployed in multiple regions globally, including IL4-compliant environments for the U.S. Government, supporting users in 100+ countries and 30+ languages. Eightfold is at the forefront of agentic AI, delivering intelligent agents that actively drive outcomes across hiring and talent workflows, while much of the industry is still in the experimental phase. Backed by $410M+ in funding and valued at $2B+, we are defining the next era of agentic talent systems. What sets Eightfold apart is not just our technology and mission, but our people. We are a deeply technical, execution-driven organization that values ownership, collaboration, and high standards. Our teams work closely across functions and locations to build systems that scale in real-world enterprise environments
About the Role
As a Senior SDET, you will design, develop, and maintain scalable test automation frameworks to ensure the quality, reliability, and performance of Eightfold’s platform. You will work closely with software engineers, product managers, and quality engineers to embed quality throughout the software development lifecycle. This is a hands-on engineering role requiring strong coding skills, automation expertise, and a problem-solving mindset. You will also contribute to testing AI-powered features, exploring AI-assisted testing approaches, and improving engineering efficiency through automation.
What You’ll Own
1. Test Automation & Framework Development
Design, develop, and maintain scalable automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Build reusable test libraries, utilities, and automation components using Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Develop and maintain automated test suites using frameworks such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, or equivalent tools.
Identify automation gaps, reduce repetitive manual testing, and improve test coverage and execution efficiency.
Perform code reviews and follow software engineering best practices to ensure maintainable, reliable automation.
2. API, Integration & Platform Quality
Design and execute API, integration, and contract tests to validate service interactions and data integrity.
Test complex workflows across distributed services and multi-tenant SaaS applications.
Validate error handling, edge cases, authentication, authorization, and data consistency.
Collaborate with developers to identify root causes, troubleshoot defects, and prevent regressions.
Ensure comprehensive coverage across functional and critical business scenarios.
3. CI/CD & Quality Engineering
Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or equivalent platforms.
Establish and maintain reliable automated quality checks to support faster and safer releases.
Identify flaky tests, improve test stability, and optimize automation execution time.
Monitor quality metrics, including test coverage, defect leakage, automation reliability, and regression effectiveness.
Contribute to shift-left testing practices by identifying quality risks early in the development lifecycle.
4. AI Quality & AI-Assisted Testing
Contribute to testing AI-powered features, including LLM-based copilots, agents, and intelligent workflows.
Validate AI-generated outputs for correctness, consistency, relevance, and adherence to expected behavior.
Explore prompt testing, output regression, edge-case validation, and guardrail testing for AI applications.
Leverage AI coding assistants and AI-powered testing tools to accelerate test creation, debugging, and automation.
Develop an understanding of AI evaluation techniques and apply them to real-world quality challenges.
5. Performance, Reliability & Collaboration
Contribute to performance, load, and reliability testing using tools such as JMeter, k6, Gatling, or equivalent.
Identify bottlenecks, investigate failures, and collaborate with engineering teams to improve system resilience.
Work closely with developers, product managers, and other SDETs to define test strategies and release readiness.
Participate in design discussions, code reviews, defect triage, and root-cause analysis.
Take ownership of assigned quality initiatives and continuously improve testing practices.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (B.E./B.Tech in Computer Science or a related discipline preferred).
3–6 years of relevant experience in software development, test automation, or quality engineering within the IT/software industry.
Strong programming and problem-solving skills in at least one language: Python, Java, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
Hands-on experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks for UI, API, integration, or end-to-end testing.
Experience with tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Cypress, REST Assured, Postman, or equivalent technologies.
Solid understanding of software development fundamentals, object-oriented programming, data structures, debugging, and code quality.
Experience testing REST APIs, distributed applications, or cloud-based SaaS platforms.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, version control systems such as Git, and automated test execution.
Understanding of test design techniques, regression testing, defect management, and root-cause analysis.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Good to Have
Exposure to LLMs, Generative AI, AI agents, or ML-driven applications.
Experience with AI-assisted coding and testing tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar.
Familiarity with prompt testing, AI output validation, RAG-based systems, or LLM evaluation frameworks.
Exposure to performance testing, Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Experience with synthetic test-data generation, self-healing automation, or intelligent test triage.
An interest in exploring new technologies and applying AI to improve software quality and engineering productivity.
